I went for my check-up today and my doctor notified me about my twins being born early. Is It normal for them to be born early? And I need Boy/Girl K names!

What can I do next?

37 weeks is usually considered full term for twins.

If you want matchey names, I like Karsen and Karlee... If not, I like Karsen and Kylee better. :)

Yes, it's normal for twins to be born early. I'm not sure it's even possible for twins to be full term.

I personally am not a fan of super matchy names for twins, not that you asked ;). I would put in a word, instead, for giving them names in a similar style, and similar lengths, but different first letters.

That said, my favorite K name for a boy is Kiran / Kieran (same pronunciation, only one spelling is from Sanskrit, one is anglicized Irish)

For a girl, I personally love international variations on Katherine -- Katarina, Katia, Kateri. I also love Katharine with an a, a la Hepburn. Also Katriel, which isn't linguistically a Katherine name, just sounds like it.

My name tastes can get a little unconventional, though. If they're not what you're looking for, I more than understand.

My neice carried twins and they were big. Neither of them less than 7 pounds. They induced to deliver her a bit early. Although she was adimant about a completely natural birth, one was born vaginally and one had to be born C-section.

They are both beautiful and perfect and happy babies.

I like the names Kyle and Kara.
Kieran and Kassidy.

No offense to anyone, but the names Kayla, Kaylee and Kylie for a girl are just so common right now. I rarely run across a boy named Kyle or Korey. Mick Jagger has a daughter named Karis. I think that's pretty and different.

In any event, if you trust your doctor, things will work out just as they should and you'll have your double package to enjoy soon!

Best wishes.

I read your other question and noticed the names because I love baby name questions! You were thinking of korann for a boy? I've never heard of a name similar for a boy, plus it made me think of the muslim bible, not always a good connotation to some people. Just my two cents!

For boys I like kaleb, Kyle, kalen, kasey, kameron, kevin, kelvin, keegan, kort, kody, kai. Girls: kassidy, Kendra, Kadence, kalli/kallie, kandice, Kari, kathryn/Katy/Kate, keri, Kelsey, kinley, Kenzie, kourtney, Kimber, karlena, karly, kylie, kailey.

And in my experience yes twins are usually early.

It's considered normal to schedule delivering twins at 37 or 38 weeks to avoid certain complications. Many doctors will try to push twin moms into believing that they have to get a c-section and twin deliveries are dangerous.

However. I have an aunt that went to 41 weeks with my twin cousins. She went into labor naturally and vaginally delivered her twins. They were born in the 8 lb range. My (former) aunt was active, worked as a hostess, and was caring for a toddler.

I have a cousin who, a month ago, was induced with her twins but gave birth naturally (vaginally) with a scheduled induction. The girls were in the 5 lb range.

Every pregnancy is different. Just take good care of yourself.

It is common. Not all are (my friend's twins were exactly on time, and she had a natural labor with very little drug intervention). But at our birthing class, the nurse told the mom of twins that it is common for them to be early. It's size of babies vs available space. Just keep on top of your own care. My own DD was born "early", but realistically anything past 37 weeks is considered full term.

I like this name site and they have names for twins to suggest. Or you can just look at all the K names. http://www.behindthename.com/twins.php

Oooh, I like Kieran for a boy.

There are lots of good girl options... with all the Kayla and Kylie type of names. Maybe Kali? I know a girl named Kalina -- very cute.

Good luck!
