Is It Nice Out Where You Are? Does It Get You in a Good Mood?

Yesterday I walked outside from being in my frigid office cave all day and realized it was beautiful and 70 degrees and I had an extra hour of daylight when I got my daughter from K. Wooohoo I've been looking foward to this all winter. I hate when I get to her by 5:30 and its already to dark to play outside or go for a hike.
So after my new found discovery that I had an extra hour of light plus no need for a coat I headed striaght to the store to get charcoal and then we grabbed the food and grabbed Emmy and took her to the river to gril out and play soccer and hike around. We ended it with smoores and then a marshmallow fight and then a happy state trooper who checked on us because it was dusk and the park had closed. He was so sweet. He told us to take our time and enjoy ourselves (to bad he wants there 5 minutes before to get smoores, or hit by a mashmallow=) )and waited for Emmy to come up from the river to say hello to her before leaving.
We got home 10 minutes later, she read a book to M. and then crashed within seconds
So do you have nice weather where you're at?
Do you have any traditions or things you love doing in the nice weather?
I try and do the park or nature area and grill out as much as possible. We don't have much money and this free entertainment rocks!
The only thing we lack in these awesome adventures is a fun family to join us so Emmy has a playmate other than M. (although I would still join 80% of the time and be much more childish than them at times I'm sure=)

So What Happened?

Cheryl, I need to make a new trip to D.C. now that it's nice. it was freezing the weekend we went.
I'm glad most people are having nice weather, although I'm stingy with my nice weather I'm not sending some of mine to the cold places. Sorry gals...come visit bucks county=)

It is great weather where I am! We have had a ridiculously mild winter and I am loving it! I take my dog to the park and bask in the good weather.

You, however, live in an exceptionally beautiful place. I lived in the Philly area when I was younger and do miss that!

No, it's windy (gusts up to 50 mph) and pouring rain! It tried to snow earlier and it's in the mid 30's!!

I love Spring ~ baseball, jumping on the trampoline, going on walks, bbq's with friends/family, going to the park, riding our bikes, planting my garden.

Nope, it's flippin snowing again. It's March for goodness sake! I want SPRING! I cant wait for warmer weather. Endless park days, Barbecues with family and friends! Sitting out on my deck with a cold drink and talking with my husband about our days. Running around in the fields with my son. Ahh so much fun when it's nice out.

I am so sick of the cold and snow, and rain right now. Someone send us some sunshine to Washington State please!!??

I love the ease of warm weather ~ and especially getting the kids outside!. I'm currently dreaming of an outdoor oasis ~ complete with a fire pit, new grill and table set. I'm hoping we may be able to swing some of it, or all.

My bones hate the cold and although I love an occasional blizzard complete with hot chocolate and turtle brownies, I can live without it.
PS. My only complaint is "Arctic Moe". That is what my kids call my husband who must have the A/C on 67-68 already!! Ugh!!

Yes - we're getting spring weather early here - 60's and 70's this week. I agree with you totally, it's those little adventures that make life fun!!! Our week is busy, but we'll be able to play outside this evening. Tomorrow the kids have martial arts after school, but I take a blanket and they sit outside while their sibling is in class and read - enjoy that fresh air!! Thursday will be grocery shopping in the evening so that we can take off on Friday (kids don't have school and I'm ditching work) so we can head out to the nearest State Park here and do some hiking!!!

The weather here is gorgeous most of the time. Having grown up in the northeast, living here makes M. feel like I'm on a permanent vacation! It's pouring rain today but I don't mind the occasional hot chocolate kind of day.

So far our winter has been super mild, with lots of nice 70* weather. However today it's pouring rain. :( My kids had wanted to go to the zoo today. THAT's not going to happen now! Ugh. Maybe we'll go to Costco instead. That's always good for a few hours of entertainment. Hahaha... But yes, when the weather gets nicer, there are tons of outdoor places and activities to go to here. We had wanted to go visit Filoli Gardens in Palo Alto this weekend (the place is so beautiful it's almost unbelievable), but since it's supposed to continue to pour rain, that will have to wait! Hmph.

68 and sunny here with a nice breeze. I am waiting for my youngest to get up from a nap so we can get outside. I am ready to start gardening but that has to wait for a few more weeks.

it is beautiful today! Today I think it's around 80ish? At least that's what my car said, lol! My husband J. took our son to the park and I J. made a smoothie and sat out on our front steps outside. No real traditions. We grill A LOT in the summer, and swim at the pool almost everyday.

Wonderful story, thanks for sharing.

It's 81 and sunny here, and it's supposed to be beautiful all week! I spent the morning moving our huge firewood pile to the very back of our property so that I could put the hammock up between the trees where the firewood used to be.

Now I'm exhausted and sore, but at least I have a lovely hammock to rest in. :)

Well it's uncharacteristically snowing in Seattle today so I want to stay in bed! We have had a strange winter. We usually only have one snow "event" that shuts the city down. This will be number three if it sticks, and the first one was in late january. Our kids will be in school until 6/24 because of snow days!

I love your story – it brings a smile!

We've had a few nice enough days to get in some intensive garden spring cleaning. Yesterday was cool and windy, but I love that weather when I'm working up a sweat.

Last night a huge storm system moved in from the Pacific, and we got about 3 inches of very wet, heavy snow. I lay for a couple of hours listening to trees breaking under the load, like gunfire going off every few minutes. Our little home orchard survived. It's melting fast, but more snow is predicted for this evening.
