My nearly two year old son has rosy, bumpiness on his cheeks that comes and goes. I'm trying to monitor it and watch when it flairs up, only correlations I have made so far are with heat and sunscreen. He had some baby acne early on and gets cradle cap pretty bad sometimes.
We only use organic and all natural baby soaps, he hasn't had a single vaccination or drug, and we stick to a pretty healthy, additive free diet (for the most part). Mom's out there with similar issues? Does this sound like excema? Both my husband and I are allergy sufferers and I have very sensitive fair skin....
Just looking for advice and suggestions on what it could be, what to look for, what to do?
Sounds like excema. My son has had it since he was about 6 months old. Dry weather makes it flair up and it tends to get worse in the winter. We use a prescription cream that works great. We tried EVERYTHING before switching to it. Good luck!
sk your doctor. it might be but if it is because of his age he will have it for the rest of his life. my son had it but it went away before he was two so i know he won't have to deal with it forever. i would be able to tell you dor sure if i saw a picture.

Have you recently changed laundry detergent? My son breaks out with those red bumps on his cheeks when his clothes are washed with a powder detergent.
Could be rosacea. Ck w/a dermatologist.
Sounds like excema to me. My daughter is 5 and has suffered with it since birth. Sunscreens have alcohol that can be very drying and heat can increase sweat and other irritants against the skin. Take him to a pediatric allergist- I have had better luck with a specialist than relying on the pediatrician.
Other than that, stick with one soap and one moisturizer (I use cere ve) switching around can irritate it even more.

I can't offer any advice on what it may be, however, my daughter did have eczema when she was younger. The only real relief and treatment that we found was pure aloe. Dye free from the bottle works, but if you can get it straight from the plant, do that. I just wanted to pass that along for you to keep in the back of your mind in case you need to begin finding something to help it. :)
My son has had that all his life and he is 9. The dermatologist said it was dermatitis and to just put lotion on it. It has never gone away. When he eats dairy or sweats it gets worse. I had it on my arms growing up but it eventually went away in college.
It could be rosacea which does flare up when the skin is exposed to sun or heat. It could also be eczema, but eczema usually stays around and is itchy, so it sounds like it could be rosacea. Check with your pediatrician and see what kind of lotions etc could help.
My son and I both have eczema and it usually doesn't not go away without lotion or cortisone.
I don't think that's eczema....my son has keratosis pilaris on his upper arms and a little bit on his thighs--it's just a bumpiness/red sometimes and his cheeks used to flush like that....he seems to have outgrown the cheek thing and the KP has reduced as well.
He might just have very sensitive skin.
