I had carpet............. (NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN!!)
After about 10 years I pulled it up (2 dogs + 3 cats)
OMG! It was like a Florida beach under there!
Anyways..... I have just the concrete slab now (temporary)
But the animal hair gathers like tumbleweeds!!! I am vacuuming constantly.
So I was thinking..... Roomba? What are you experiences with any brands?
I would love your recommendations of ones to stay away from or buy.
:)
P.S. Never again wil I own wall to wall carpet!!!!!!!

What can I do next?

I've got a roomba and a scooba. I've had a mint and a neato.

Roomba and Neato are comparable.
Roomba has the added bonus of having a little brush along the outside which grabs hair from under chair legs, along baseboards etc. The major downside is that it is round, so it doesn't get into corners, and it moves along like a drunk monkey (randomized movements).

Neato tracks like a major league lawnmover, perimeter first, then straight even lines. It doesn't have the side sweeper, but it has a flat face and can do corners.

I have loved all of my devices. They keep the floors clean, and added bonus, they keep the dust down. You've got to keep the floors picked up though, and can't have rugs with fringe or light electrical cords in reach (they can handle the wire for the tv or a lamp, but not an i-phone charger).

My kid and dog are terrified of them. So I have to operate them when they are not here. Buy from a place with a generous return policy in case that proves problematic for you.

Best,
F. B.

I haven't gotten around to doing this, but I kept this link for reference. Read what a guy says about it and see what you think:

I recently purchased the Moneual RYDIS H68 Pro RoboVacMop Hybrid Robot Vacuum Cleaner Dry/Wet Mop from amazon. I have had it nearly a month, so I can not tell you long term, but so far I LOVE it!!! I got this brand because it has a water reservoir, and I felt like that would do a better job cleaning. I can't say enough about how much I love this item! I have 2 dogs, and my main floor in 1/2 carpet and 1/2 hard surfaces. I set my Moneual (named Robbie) to vacuum daily on the main floor, after dinner I put it in the kitchen to mop (you do have to make barriers, or else it will try to go on the carpeted area and get stuck), and each kid has a day of the week they put Robbie in their room to vacuum. It is easy enough that even my 7 year old can manage it, and even leaves vacuum marks on my carpet! Twas expensive (~$450), but so far, WELL worth it!

I had a neighbor who put in tile everywhere in her house - it was great for her dog and she only had a few area rugs here and there.
A Roomba might help but you still have to vacuum with a regular vacuum on a regular basis.
It might be better if you could get your critters use to being vacuumed every day.
This thing looks like it should work:

I have a shark that I hang on the wall. I also have a nice pair of slippers. I have no carpet as well. I have thought of a Roomba but I am sure I would come home from work finding the poor thing choking on god knows what that my kids didn't pick up.
