Hi everyone this is a question I'm ashamed to ask a sales person. When I visit stores I see 2T & 24months. I always purcahse my daughter 24months. I've never tried the 2T because I was thinking there must be a difference. (larger maybe)Please clarify

What can I do next?

2T is usually a little longer and if you have a girl-2t dresses don't come with bloomers but 24M dresses do.

Why are you embarrassed to ask??? That's silly :-)Anyway, I agree with the others that 2T tended to be a little bit longer in shorts and pants but still had plenty of tushy room for diapers....as far as shirts, it was really too close to tell the difference on most occasions...

2T is a smidge bigger than 24 month...I have a skinny tall kid who is hanging out in 24 mo pants because the 2T's still fall down a bit...

Yes, they are the same. If there is any difference the 2T might be a hair larger but not enough to make a difference. I worked at a children's clothing store and we carried 24 months but it was the same thing.

It depends on the brand, I know that at The Children's place it goes from 24 months to 3T, they dont have a 2T. My 2 year old still wears shirts from 18 months bc sometimes they are way too big and she's a normal weight.

Pants I'll buy in 2T bc its longer, but I make sure there is an adjustable waist cause they always come out too big.

Hope it helps!

if i remember correctly, 24 mo and 2T are essentially the same, 2T might be a little longer to accommodate taller children but still has room for a diaper. a 2 is different from a 2T because it does not have room for a diaper. same for 3 and 3T, etc. i used to work at gymboree and people asked me about sizes all the time so dont be embarrassed!! its a common question because, lets face it, baby sizes are weird!

I was always under the impression that 2T was slightly slimmer in the diaper area than 24 months to accomodate underwear. I could be wrong though. If in doubt, hold the 2 sizes up together and see where they differ. I've always had long and skinny kids. My almost 5 year old stil has some 2T shorts that fit, so I don't give much stock to sizes.
