Mesquite Community Hospital and Medical Center of Mesquite are the two hospitals that I am inquiring about to deliver my unborn child in. I don't know anyone that has delivered there or that can give me information about either hospital. If you know anything good or bad about these hospitals please respond. I need to make a decision on one or the other asap.

What can I do next?

I had my twin girls at Mesquite Comm. 5 years ago and I was very happy about my stay there! All of the nurses were wonderful and very nice and helpful. The room I was in for l&D was very roomy but they did move me to a recovery room which was tiny *that's the only downfall*

Overall, it was a really good experience.

I'm 8 months pregnant and going to deliver at Med. Ctr Mesquite. The rooms are nice and there is a jaccuzi tub and stand up shower in the rooms. These can both be used during labor. There are also dvd players or vcr's for entertaining other children you may have. I know this will come in handy for me because I have a 3 1/2 year old daughter. The staff seem to be really nice (when I went to pre register). Also your baby and you stay in the same room at all times unless there is a medical emergency. You will deliver and rest all in one place instead of being moved several times. That was a plus for me because the last delivery I had I was moved twice. -G.

S. I had my two younger children @ Mesquite Community. I had a wonderful experience with my son Collin. The nurses were great and kepted my very calm. They took very good care of me and my handson son. However the following year when I delivered Emma. One year and 4 days to be on the mark everything was different. The nurses were rude and treated my like a child. I have 4 kids so it was not like this was my first time. The nurse that put my IV in blow out the vains in both my hands and they had to go thru my thumb. I was having my tubes tied so I decided to have the saddle block with this delivery. The doctor the put the needle in my back did not push the drugs so for over an hour I was have contractions with a needle stuck in my back and was told not to move or else I could damage the nerverous system. When I finally delivered Emma she was beautiful, but it was the worst experience I have every hand. And I choose Mequite community because of the horrible things I hard about Mequite Medical Center. I would suggest you do a site tour of both hospitals or maybe check out Doctor's Hospital. My friend just had her baby girl there last month and they were great!!!

S., The hospital on Galloway is by far the best (I get the names mixed up). I have not had babies at either but have been in both related to my MS. I will never return to the other one.

I know you posted this last year of 2006 but I had to say something. I had the worse experience at Mesquite Community Hospital. I had to take my daughter to the ER during Christmas and was truly horrified at the conditions of the ER. They are behind on technology, even the nurses show lack of medical procdures and asking questions, we didn't even see the doctor it was a Physicians Assistant. If you went there I hope you had a better experience!

S.,

My husband is in the medical field and says that Med Ctr of Mesquite would be the better choice of the two, but that neither has a great reputation. Are you choosing these because they are close or is that the only hospitals you are covered under? If possible, I would try to find a way to have it at Baylor, Presby Dallas, or Medical City. Those are the three more respected places in Dallas. We had ours at Presby Dallas and were very happy. Hope this helps!

I delivered both of mine at Mesquite community. (last delivery was in 5/05) They were great, the nurses were very nice and usually attentive. I can't say anthing about medical center as I never been there. But I would reccommend MCH.
