I am looking for anyone who has experience with www.e-mealz.com. Did it work for you? Did your family like the meals? Dave Ramsey recommends them and I need to cut my grocery budget.

We've used it on and off for over 2 years now and I love it. Another web address for it is: http://www.mealtimemakeover.com. And no, I do not make any kickbacks off of that link. I actually have listened to Dave Ramsey, am following his plan, and have actually USED emealz. I wouldn't comment about this service unless I thought it was a good value.

I've had the best success with the Wal-Mart and Kroger plans. I really love how they spell out all of the prices and everything, so you always have a good idea of what the total will be. The Founder is a coupon fan, so her menus will often correspond with current coupons. I use Grocery Game too, so I can get the price down pretty low and ordinary mortals can as well.

For a *free* site that features low-cost menus, you might try Hillbilly Housewife and check out her $45 menu. http://www.hillbillyhousewife.com/40dollarmenu.htm There is also a $70 menu http://www.hillbillyhousewife.com/70dollarmenu.htm

She even has menus for Angel Food boxes. http://www.hillbillyhousewife.com/angelfood/

That site is currently free. Good luck! :)

Just remember if Mr. Dave Ramsey (we do not follow or know much of him ) recommends it............he gets a perk.... As in $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I have no idea what you are talking about but I can't help to respond because YOU can take care of YOU without subscribing to some plan that makes someone else $$$.

Think about it.... Use common sense when spending money....Don't use credit cards. Offer Cash when you need something and make a deal.... Most companies do not want the extra charges from credit card companies (2-6%) to run a card through the system.........therefore...you can get a CASH price if you ask....

From: a Mom who wishes you well. You can be financially sound without subscribing to someone else's plan which also makes that someone $$$$ from YOUR pocketbook.

Always...Pay CASH OR.....pay your credit card in FULL OR MORE each month to cover your expenses. Time= $$ so figure that into your expenses. Carry NO debt.

Hi K.,

I've never used the site but I would definitely say, "If you are having a problem with meal planning, go for it!" It looks like it could simplify your life if you are having a hard time figuring out how to shop and what to make for dinner.

For those of you responding to this post telling K. she can do all of this herself for free, please keep in mind that some people have a mental block when it comes to planning meals for their family and shopping for those meals. If this site will help K. get organized, then no one should look down their noses at her because she needs a little help. Instead, we should all be praising her for her effort to find a solution for her family!

Ok, I'm off my soap box now. Ya'll have a good day!

I have not tried it, but I am going to offer my opinion anyways. I looked at the website and I would have to say that I can make 7 dinners for half of what those plans are costing AND it is stuff that I know my family likes. The problem with the plan is that you are trying out new recipes too often and there is a good chance that frequently you will not like the foods which will either waste it or you just won't enjoy it. I think that I make dinner for my family for $40 to $50 a week (7 days). I think that if you did the play you would be spending up to $80 a week for dinner alone and I am afrain that once you add your breakfast foods, lunch foods, snack foods, drinks, household supplies and toiletries, you will end up spending way more than you already do. I tell you what. I don't know exactly where you live, but if you will private message me, I will give you plenty of tips, advice and my own experience and meal plans, get this, for FREE! I won't even charge you $1.25 a week! Another problem that I can forsee with that mealplan is that it is all fresh food. Which although that is great, as families with children we often have surprises that mean that we don't get to make a meal some nights or you get caught somewhere and HAVE to eat elsewhere. So then, not only have you wasted money eating out, but you will have a $2 bag of salad that goes to waste because you didn't get to eat is according to plan. PM me and I will help you for free. If you live close, we could even meet at a grocery store and I could help teach you some great shopping and mealplanning tips! If you live really close, maybe we could even set up a grocery share together. I have always wanted to do one of those. I don't know if you know what I am talking about, but it is where you get a few moms together and you each buy some things in large quantities at much cheaper prices and then you split the quantities. PM me, we can talk!

I took a look the site and it looks pretty good - I may try it out myself (if I can stop being so cheap). And it's not really that I'm cheap, I just don't like paying for something I could really do on my own. I currently use www.allrecipes.com. I look through my recipe box or through the site recipes, plan my meals print out a list and look online for the sales. It doesn't take as much time as you would think. Just an idea.

I currently use it. Works great. There are a few meals that either my husband or my 3 teenage boys don't like but either A. I don't buy the items for that meal. or B. I buy the items and only cook it when one of the family members that does not like it will be gone at dinner time. It's easy and good. Even it you just did it 2 weeks out of the month. That's only 1.25 a week.

I have been using it for a while now and LOVE it! I dont ever see myself not using it actually.

We have not had one recipe we didnt like. I am using the weight watchers points menu for walmart shoppers and it really helps me stay on track because I dont have to come up with it myself. I KNOW I am saving money because I used to spend at least twice as much on groceries and still not have anything to make for dinner. No more wandering the store trying to come up with ideas for dinner buying stuff I rarely ever remember to cook. And I LOVE that is not a bunch of processed foods but there are some. (like rice mixes, muffins mixes, frozen veggies)The shopping list is even organized by area of the store so my trips are faster too. Most recipes have taken me less than 30 minutes to prepare and cook with a rare exception of a pork loin or something that has to cook longer. Prep time is always short. My time (I used to spend making my lists, wandering the store) is worth more than then $1.25 a week I am spending in this.

For the person who said they can make meals for less (even though they have never even tried this)...good for you but I know I cant. I cross off what I already have in my pantry and hit the store. This week it only cost me $25 for all I needed for 5 meals. If you want to try it send me a message and I can send you a link to save a few dollars.
