The best thing to take off an ink mark is hairspray, but it may also affect the dye in the leather. It would be best to test a small area and use a cotton swab. You will see the ink on the swab as it comes out and hopefully not leather dye!
Good Luck!

I second the recommendation for Sol-u-Mel! It is absolutely wonderful. It has gotten some crazy stains out of my clothes, furniture, and carpet. :)

Yes! I did just that with a Melaluca (I think that's the spelling) product called Sol-U-Mel. It's a little bottle and it smells like orange. I was THRILLED because my 2-year-old had written all over my brown leather couch with a ball-point pen, and later she got ahold of a permanant black marker!

You can probably easily find an independant reseller online. Just ask. Their products are all natural.

Good luck!

There is an actual ink lifter product made just for leather. I got mine in a leather care kit purchased from Lazy Boy when we bought the chair. I can tell you it really works :-)
A quick google search shows that it is available on-line too.

Hi B.,

I have a remedy that I know will work, it has on mine several times! It is a line of safe, non-toxic products but they are not found at stores. Good thing is that it is guaranteed to work. This is my recommendation, I am very chemical conscious and I really don't know what else would work on leather and not damage your material.

If you don't want to try a new line of cleaners, I've heard that vinaegar (sp.?) is a really good, safe cleaner also. Maybe spot test on a part where no one can see!

Hope that helps you!

My daughter wrote all over our taupe leather sectional with a blue pen a few years ago. Windex took the ink off but also took the color out of the leather. I wouldn't advice using windex. GOOD LUCK!

My daughter (at 3 yrs) did her handywork on our leather sofa and I just about had a meltdown. Luckily my husband applied windex (tried a patch for a dye test first) and the ink came out. He had to scrub, but it did come out.

Good luck...
