Infant Moms

Hi M., I am a 26 year old stay-at-home mom to 2 month old and 2 year old little boys. We just recently moved to Tampa and I would love to start some kind of playgroup!! If you or anyone else has ideas for one in the South Tampa area my email is ____@____.com

I am a stay at home mom of a 10 month old and I go to 2 mom's support groups that have been very helpful. They are really friendly and are very casual. One meets on Tuesday and the other on Wednesday. The moms at the Wednesday group have recently been trying to meet up more outside of the group. Both meet in Tampa. Please e-mail me if any of you want the info. I would love to meet a few more moms to hang out with and keep myself sane!

Hi M.. My daughter is now ten months and we joined a local playgroup here called Jax-Park. It has been wonderful. You have a meet and greet at first at a park or the mall play area and then once you are verified as a Mommy, you are allowed full access to the website. Every day of the week there is something going on. And there are things for all age groups and then specifics for infants, toddlers, preschoolers. Activities are all over town, so you can stay in your area or venture out, which is what my daugher and I do. We joined when she was almost five months and it has been a wonderful experience. They have activities at the childrens museum, the Zoo, field trips (just went to the Tiny Tots Symphony) and much more. You should chekc it out. I was in the same boat when I had my daughter a year ago. It's such a hard transition when you have noone to talk to or who can relate to your life. I ended up joining Stroller Strides which is a workout class you can do with your babies. I met some great friends plus I lost my pregnancy weight! They do other things such as playgroups, mom's night out, etc. Not sure where you are located, but they have a few different locations plus there are other classes like it all over the Tampa area. You should check it out! :)

I would highly suggest checking out Yahoo groups for a playgroup in your area! I own Jacksonville Kids Playgroup and Parents Club(http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jacksonvillekids)

There are TONS of free playgroups in this area and in the OP/Mandarin areas too...You are far from alone!! I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 2 month old baby too...:)

i am a single mom, i have a daughter who is almost 5..She is my world...I am always looking to make new friends...I work FT and go to school so its hard for me to meet people...

I know how it is to be the first to have a baby. I had to make new friends. Thank God my husband had friends that were to be first time parents a few months we were expecting. I need some more friends here in Jacksonville too. Let me know if you are interested in hanging out.

Even though I work part-time, I still feel like I will go insane on days that I stay home. Like you, I don't have any friends in the area with kids.

Congratulations on your little baby girl. There are definitely organizations in the area where you can meet up with other moms. For instance, there is Mothers of Preschoolers - they have several area chapters (check out www.mops.org) and I believe there is a moms club international with local chapters as well. You may also want to investigate through yahoo groups - there are several for moms groups, for instance St. Pete Working Moms (this is a great group I belong to). Good luck!

Hi M., I am 25 and a stay at home mom as well to my first child, a daughter Makayla, who just turned 7 months old. I am not sure where you live, but there is a great mommy and me yoga class that I go to in Palm Harbor. It's not a ton of yoga, it's mostly a lot of talking, mostly first time moms getting together and talking about our babies! I have met a lot of great moms there, who I also get together with outside class. Let me know if you are interested and I can get you the information!

Hello M.. I'm D. and I'm 26 with a 10 year old son and a 5 month old daughter. We moved to Inverness, FL about 2 years ago and we're from upstate NY. I don't get out much and the only friends I have are the ones at work. I would enjoy getting together sometime maybe for lunch or something. The only family member that's around is my brother who just moved here so it kinda sucks. I love my husband dearly but it'd be nice to talk to another female, ya know?
