I am looking for an inexpensive indoor location to hold my daughter's 1st birthday party. Most of the children attending will be ranging in age from 1 to 2 so I need something that will be age appropriate. Any suggestions???

Hi J.,

You might look into Gymboree Play & Music for your party. I think they are about $175 for 2 hours-- and that includes the invitations, age-appropriate entertainment and activities, party favors, tableware, and clean-up. You just provide refreshments. They literally do everything for you, which I think is nice when you have a party with really young ones that are more difficult to entertain/find activities for. Super easy and relatively inexpensive since you don't have to worry about decorations or anything. They have locations in Mesa, Scottsdale, and Chandler. Here is the website, where you can look up the nearest location and phone #: http://www.gymboreeclasses.com/b2c/customer/birthParties.jsp.

Jennifer's Party Pad on Gilbert and Warner is a fun place to have your child's party. They do all of the planning for you and it is fairly inexpensive (Cheaper than my home parties!)

Also, when my niece turned one they had her party at the Gilbert Rec Center next to Freestone Park on Lindsay and Guadalupe. They rented a large room and brought one of those collapsible play houses, a few ride on toys and lots of balloons. The kids just ran around having fun! The older children were able to go rock climbing, etc. during the party for an extra fee. They did food, cake and ice cream. It was nice and cool:)

Bounce University is very fun. My nephews have all had parties there.

Gymboree works well, but it depends on your definition of inexpensive. Their parties are nearly $200 if I remember correctly from when I called. Peter Piper Pizza works great for an inexpensive party. We spent around $125 for pizza and soda for like 30 people (we had a big first birthday for our first), cake, 4 balloon bouquets, a bunch of $1 4x6 picture frames, photo developing (we put pictures of Maddy on the tables from birth to one), cake plates, a few decorations, and table covers. We did that for our first daughter and will be doing it for the second one as well. They may enjoy Jumping Party (www.jumpingparty.com) up in Mesa. My 11 month old and 2.5 year old love that place. Of course I have to hold the younger one and jump but she enjoys it greatly and it's a good workout for me too :) (jumping party also has coupons here on mamasource.

Happy birthday to your little one!

Try Toy Town in Ahwatukee. The little kids love it.
