I have trouble getting my floors clean completely. What is the best & easiest way to clean floors? I have tried all kinds of mops, swiffers, and cleaners, and I can't find anything I like. I don't have alot of free time, so it needs to be something quick and easy. I have tile and wood floors.

What can I do next?

Here is something I do every day to clean my wood and tile floors. I am a mom of 5, and my floors get dirty quickly. I use my 2 year old's diapers, inside out, and strapped using the diaper straps to the bottom of my basic sponge mop. I put the floor cleaner in a spray bottle, spray the floor, and clean/dry it with the diaper on the end of the mop. I do it in sections, spraying about a 3 foot area at a time. It does sound really funny, but it really works GREAT, and it is much cheaper than swiffer type mop pads, and the diaper can absorb a lot more area than a swiffer type mop does. It may be cookey, but I have been doing it for years, and I will continue doing it even after my youngest is out of diapers!

i love the shark steam mop too. word of caution, i understand using orange glow on wood floors is terrible for them. you should not use any cleaner like that if you have wood floors.

I vaccum my kitchen first and then spray the sticky spots with "pickle juice". That's half a liter of water mixed with half a liter of vinegar and a drop of dish detergent. Next, I go over my floor with hot water mop. That's it! No bad chemicals, no disposables and it takes about 15 minutes.

Either swiffer, which is really easy, or if you find a mop you like, white vinegar and water works really well and is natural.

Beware!!!! DO NOT USE ORANGE GLO!!! At first it makes your floors look beautiful, but then.... there is a nasty haze that forms and you cannot get it off. It shows every scratch and looks extremely dull. I have spent countless hours on my hands and knees scrubbing the grey residue left behind. Please don't be fooled by them like I was.

Hi M.,

I have wood floors and requested help from my mom friends to figure out how to keep the darn things clean (they always look smudged and dingy). The one that's worked the best so far is Orange Glo for hardwood floors with a TERRY CLOTH mop... that's the key... I never had a terry cloth mop and it made all the difference! I don't have tile, so I can't offer suggestions there.

Good luck!

vinegar. I think you mix it with water but I'm not sure. I'm sure you could google "Uses for Vinegar" but i know it does a great job cleaning wood floors

I am part of a health and wellness company and we have non-toxic cleaning products, bath and body, laundry, medicine, vitamins. Everything is COMPLETELY NON-TOXIC. It is safe for your kids and animals. The cleaning products are WONDERFUL. I do have something that will get your floors clean. I have dogs and it will completely take their smell out of the carpet when they have accidents. You can get in it for a business or just for the products. There is no selling, no inventory and it is not a MLM company. This company has been around for 24 years now. Every product is made in the US. I would like to set up an appointment for you to get some more information. It will only take 25 minutes of your time. Please email me at ____@____.com if you would like some more information. I look forward to talking to you.

not sure about hard wood, but I use vinegar and water to clean my tile floors. The smell goes away after the vinegar evaporates and isn't toxic like most other cleaners

I love the steam mop it gets everything off the floors and shines the floor no dulling residue (gosh I sound like an infomercial) or sticky film left behind. It even got up crayon.

Hi...I'm cant' stand doing floors so I got the Shark Steam Mop and love it! I just sweep my floors then steam away the yuck. My floors are dry right away so I don't have to worry about keeping my toddler out of the kitchen. There's no chemicals too so no harsh smells. Seems to work well for me. The only part I can't seem to get clean very well are the corners. I usually have to go back with a paper towel and finish up the corners. I think the H20 mop is shaped better and may work good in the corners. Good luck!

I have just started using Bona products from Lowe's. I finally feel like my floor is clean after using swifter wet jet for years. It is a spray and then you use a wet microfiber. They also use a wet jet type thing. Good luck, I know how frustrating it can be.
