~In Need of a Dining Room Table~

I am looking for an affordable dining room table new or used. I have been looking all over craigslist and newspapers and I still haven't had any luck. I was looking around for some good stores to go around Washington State (Olympia area) that have great prices but am not having any luck there either. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good place to go with good prices or if anyone knows of someone who has one that is wanting to sell or give away? Please let me know. Thanks

What can I do next?

Have you tried The Olde Cannery in Sumner. It's a gigantic place and they also have a great Scratch & Dent section.

www.freecycle.com then find your area and sign up and place a post that says WANTED: dining room table and chairs (yourtownhere) tht's the format they like you to post with. And MAKE SURE you leave a good email address in the post for them to respond to. I have given away things on there and just yesterday got an HP all in one printer a lady was giving away b/c she didn't have the cords. It's a GREAT site!!!!!

I have a sturdy rectangle table with a leaf. My husband refinished it a couple years ago...it's got a little "crafting" spots from my daughter, but it's nice. We don't have chairs to go with it. It's yours if you want it. Free, you haul it. I have to be in Seattle for a DR apt today and could mail you a pic tomorrow? Let me know & send me your email addy if you are interested.

We got a great table and chair set at walmart for only $100 three years ago. It's held up great with two kids, holidays, and all! I can't believe how much some sets cost, good luck!

Hi there
Target has some good deals as does Fred Meyer's. If you are ever out in the Tanasbourne area, there is a new Ashley Furniture right by Dania. There are a bunch of furniture shops right near there as well. Good luck

Good Morning C., I am not sure if they sell them or not but Levitz is closing all locations and going out of business so they may have some good deals :) I know finding a good quality table is hard. Because usually you find a good one with the right price then realizes the chairs are another $25-50.00 a PIECE :( I got mine at Costco Home in Kirkland and LOVE it it is a gathering table (sits higher than normal) has 6 chairs and a leaf that stores in the table and was $500. Don't know your price range though. Also Ikea in Kent/S Seattle area. They had some I didn't like many but may be worth a try. Good luck on your search, I know it took me over a year to find the right one. Happy Holidays :)

C., Try over by the mall.. There is a second hand consignment store that has quality stuff for great prices. I got my dining room chairs for a great price there. It is by that Naydonoff Gym ( just a little past it). If you are comming from 4th Plain to the mall turn right at the signal when you see the gas stations. And it should be about half a mile on the right in one ogf the building strip centers. I have had good luck in this store. C.

This one's more in the Seattle area, but if you don't mind driving a bit, it's in Tukwila (south of Seattle) and it's called Factory Furniture Direct. It's not the one that's on TV, though, but you can find them in and around the Southcentre mall in Tukwila. Also, we got a great dining room table and chairs at Cost Plus (World Market) for a great price... but then, I'm coming from Canada, so maybe my great price isn't cheap for you since most goods here are half the price of home! :-) Happy shopping.

If budget is your main concern I would say Ikea. We bought a dining room table with 4 chairs there for under $200. We couldn't have afforded much more either.
We were really apprehensive about buying it there - I love Ikea for small furniture items, but a big ticket thing like a dining room set, I really wasn't sure about it. It took us about 5 trips there to make a decision, but we have had it for about a year now and are really happy with it. We thought that we'll get an ok one now, and a nice heavy expensive one, when we have a bigger house and our baby has outgrown any drawing/banging on the table phases.

Hi there - "Affordable" is a very subjective term, so I'm not sure what your price range is, but consignment stores are a great place to start. If you have a Cost Plus in the area or can make it down to Portland, they have a number of stylish yet affordable items - http://www.worldmarket.com/.

I personally don't suggest places like Target because - while their stuff is really cute, it isn't made to withstand children and the veneer wears off quite easily.

Good luck!

Another vote for IKEA here. In our city, we also have a couple of furniture resale stores. I think they sell on consignment. The furniture is gently used, good quality and there are further discounts on items that have been in the store past a certain length of time. There are probably stores like this in your area too.

I think there is a place called Snoopy's that always has good deals on furniture and what not. I forget where it is located, but I am sure you can look it up. My mom always gets stuff there, she lives in Lacey.
