In Loving Memory Album

I lost my father on Wednesday. I would like to get the family together when everyone is feeling up to it, not any time soon, and make a remembrance album. I was thinking that everyone can make copies of the photos they own and then we could get together and make one album. In the album, I would also like to include special memories. I would then like to have a copy made of the album so that each family member involved can have a copy. The original can go to my step mother. I'm just not sure how to do this exactly. I know there are online sites you can upload photos on to and make albums and then order them but is there a way we can make an actual scrapbook and then have it reproduced? Any advice would be much apprecaited. Like I said this will not occur until everyone is up to it.

BTW, I won't be reading the responses right away so please understand if I don't flower you right away.

Thank you.

Sorry about your dad.

I would have everyone write/type their memories then paper clip the note to the picture. Gather it all together and have only one or two people compile the book. You know too many cooks spoil the soup. Check out places like Kinkos they should be able to scan in the picture and discription into a Word document, until the book is complete. Then print out the book and bind it.

I have done this. I made a Creative Memories album. I got each person to write something on the actual pages or in journal boxes. Put the photos inside and when it was all finished I took the pages out and went to Kinkos and had each one scanned in and printed out. Any quality reproduction place can do this, i.e. Ritz camera photo shops, Fed Ex Plus, etc. BTW - I did not leave the album. I stayed while it was done. Selfishly I kept the original album.

Sorry for your loss. Holidays are tough just like they say. This is the second Christmas without my dad and I truly miss him. Bless you.

I don't know of an easy way to do multiple scrap books. You can make color copies of each page and put them into a book. Color copies look surprisingly good, but it won't have the 3D element. However, color copies are quite expensive and I almost think it would be better to do an online book and buy it when they go on sale or offer "coupons".

I'm sorry for the loss of your father. I lost my father too and it's a hard time, especially right before Christmas. Hang in there and look for support where you can find it. Hugs!

Consider everybody scanning the photos and emailing them around. Then everybody has a copy of the photos but it's up to them if they want to print or make a digital album or just share with their children. Then one person can make the album either through a service or an actual scrapbook.

I'm so sorry about your father. I don't have advice to give, but I just wanted to say how sorry I am. I lost my dad too, and it's so hard.

Hi, Two:

I sorrow for your loss. I send you and your family
healing balm to heal your broken heart.

One thing I suggest is:

Get the family together first and ask them what can the
family do for a remembrance?

With the conversation, interject your idea.
See how it is received. It is no use trying to get people
to do what you want.
Just a thought.
D.
