Ignite Energy? Anyone Switched Electric Companies to This?

Unfortunately, CoServ is a co-op and you would not be able to switch. It's a legal contract set up when the home builder first built the subdivision. I am a Senior Consultant with Ambit, which is a Dallas based electricity company. You can make money with Ignite but I found I was able to advance much faster with Ambit. Coserve is a co-op and unless things have changes recently they do not allow you to pick another service provider. We have had them for over 10 years. We have enquired of the years, but are always given the same answer.

Seriously consider your decision before switching. I became a rep for Stream. I changed from TXU.My bills were up around 400 to 500 a month for a 1300 sq foot house after signing up with stream. Almost double what I had been paying. I had them come out and check several times. I thought someone was stealing my electric. They said no. After three times I gave up. The other thing is, is that you actually have to call TXU or Oncor to get anything resolved. Stream does not have anything to do with it. They sign you up and collect the money. That is it. And once you recieve a bill you must pay immediately or you are shut off. I went out of town once and was actually like 2 days past the week they give you to pay it. Came home and I had about 1000.00 worth of meat bad in my big freezer. NO help from them they said it couldn't be helped since I was 8 days past due. They then charged me 100.00 to turn on my electric that day and a 250.00 deposit because I was a "risk". I never made more than about 3 dollars for the people I had signed up. SOOOOOO in my opinion that made a heck of alot of money off of me. Since I left them my bills are more in check. They never run me more than 180.00 in the summer. Do the math. Really do your research first. And don't feel bad if a family member is upset for not getting you signed up. In the end you will not be angry with them for getting you into a sticky situation. Being a single mother I couldn't afford the 250.00 a month loss I suffered for almost 3 years to "help" out a friend.

I used to have Stream but switched to Gexa and my summer bills went from $360's to $160's and I keep my house cooler now. I originally went with Stream because my sister was "selling" it. I did it to help her out, but it didn't help me out much.
I went to the website www.powertochoose.org and there they list all power companies and their current rates and terms. It's a fantastic site to compare rates. I actually went Gexa's go green this time. It less than a penny more per kw than their regular rate but funds wind energy and I got $50 back for signing for a year.

Ignite is a pyramid scheme. You can google it and read all about it, but I'm sure you will find that most people are usually unhappy with the service. I am also lucky enough to live in the Coserv area and have had them for the last 10 years. I highly suggest that you go shopping for energy. Pay attention to the price per kilowat hour and check multiple companies. Coserv is ALWAYS the cheapest because it is a coop and can't be bought by just anybody. You just have to be lucky enough to live in one of the very small areas they service. My advice, consider yourself lucky and stay put.

I"m in Flower Mound and I switched to Stream about 2 years ago and I havent had any problems. Last year when the 3 tornadoes cme through our town and knocked our electric out. Well we were back up and running just as fast as those who had TXU or anything else. I just redid my contract and signed on at 10 cents a KW.

The person that said they had issues, is just that experience. I was with TXU before and my laargest bill is usually in July and with Stream it has been $100 less. I have def saved money. Also you do not call TXU if you have a problem you do call ONCOR because that is who takes care of the isues and repairs. IF you had TXU you would have to call ONCOR as well. ONCOR always treated fairly and I havent had any issues.

Now I would check the rates with other companys because you can get cheaper out there. Just recently I told a friend bout Stream and she went and pulled her bill and she was already paying less, so she didnt change.

We switched to stream and I feel like we have saved money on our electric bill over txu. Just be smart and look at your bill. See what you Are paying for per kilowatt compared to others.. And renew it when it tells you to. You can always switch back.

Stream/Ignites reputation is definitely going down as staters below said and yes they make nothing! Its all about building your pyramid. If you are in a co-op (I am too) you can not switch as you are "member"

If you are allowed to the CHEAPEST energy is Cirro. My dad is a broker for over 30 electric providers (though they all go throuhg oncor)

And he sets everyone up on Cirro. He does mostly business but does residentual as well. You can go through yourself to Cirro (which I think is in the 10 cents) but if you go through my dad you can get it in the 9 cents... I had 9.1 before I moved to my co-op 2 months ago.
