I want to suprise my family with a game or something fun to let them know weather were having a boy or a girl, but have come up short on ideas. If you have any that could involve my whole family let me know.
SO i want to thank everyone for all the responses and we actually found out last on the 14 of aug!! its a girl!! i came up with an idea to use a blank shirt that said on the front "guess what grandma" and "its a girl" on the back cus it was mainly for my mom she loved it and it took her a few mins to figure it out but it was fun!!!
You probably can't wait until christmas to do this, but my cousin bought 12 christmas ornaments in blue and pink and put a piece of paper in each one. Only one had the paper with the sex of the baby. We all got to go around and open our ornament and see if it was us. It was great fun and of course most of us cried tears of joy when we found out what she was having. Maybe you can do some sort of variation?
Something one of my friends did was not really a game but was really cute is she got a whole bunch of tic tacs(in the container) and changed the wrapper from saying tic tacs on it to putting a piece of paper on it stating what they were having. It was really cute!!
do it with dinner, use good coloring and when you make dinner make everything either blue or pink!!!
I have a friend who had a dinner party with all their close family and friends on the night of the ultrasound. At th u/s they had the tech put the gender in a sealed envelope, not telling them what it was. Then at the dinner they opened it and were as surprised as everyone else! It was fun!
Design a shirt for your son that says "i am going to be a big brother!" Just have him wear it and don't say a word. My cousin did that and her family was so shocked. Really cute idea. Good luck and Congratulations!!
My ex's parents knew because I was having morning sickness so bad it made me hospitalized...it was the same time we found out also...
What we did was we went to Build a Bear. They have little t-shirts that say It's a Boy or Girl. We made each of our moms a bear with the t-shirt and left them at each of thier homes. So when they came home from work they had a surprise.
Hey, that was me that did the Christmas ornament idea! It was so much fun, it was emotional, and memorable. Another variation of this idea is to wrap little boxes and on the inside of one of the boxes have the sex revealed.
I also have another idea. You can take your family out to dinner and excuse yourself to use the restroom. Upon leaving you can hand the waitress 'fake' menus to hand out to your family. On the inside it would reveal to everyone the sex of the baby. You can decorate the inside with all pink or blue and keep them as keepsakes.
You can also do a special dinner at home with all of the food or decorations in pink or blue. One other idea is to frame a picture of the ultrasound and write, "It's a ______!" on the picture. Congratulations and let us know what you decide to do:)
