I have a 2 1/2 yr old and a 3 month old. I REALLY need a double stroller but just can't decide on which one. I've done some research and it seems that the Baby Jogger city mini double is best rated. It's kinda pricey so I want know if anyone has it and what they think about it, plus if anyone as any other recommendations?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

So I decided to go with the Baby Jogger City Mini double. I did really like the idea of the Phil and Ted's double being that it's about the size of a single but I noticed that there is no sun protection for the child sitting in the back.
The City Mini double is pretty big and heavy, (I'm 5ft and 98lbs) but I haven't had any problems getting into doorways. The underseat basket may as well not be there, nothing bigger than my hand can fit in, and that's only on the side, you can't get in from the back at all. I have the City Mini single and the basket in that is huge in comparison.

I have the citi mini single stoller and its my favorite. It is very easy to hold, take in and out of the car and the top hood covers really well so the kids are well sun protected. My friends have the double stroller and they love it. Hope this advice helps.

My girls are 16 months apart and I LOVE my phil and ted's stroller. My oldest just turned 2 and my baby is 9 months. I also looked at the baby jogger but it seemed really big. It depend on where you are planning on using your stroller. We bought the Vibe. It was a little bit more expensive than the sport model, but you can fold it with the double kit attached. We live in Switzerland and I wanted to get a stroller that I knew would fit in smaller doorways and elevators. It has been fantastic! The best part is we used it as a single stroller before the baby was born and we can use it as a single again. I also was concerned about the backseat, but my older daughter actually asks to sit back there, so it can't be too bad :) My youngest is happy back there with a toy and a snack. Good luck and I would try and "test drive" a few if possible.

Hi. My boys are the same age as your children. I have a Phil & Ted's Sport which I love love love!!! It looks like a single but can be converted into a double by attaching the second seat. Plus there are different options for seating arrangements. I could go on & on about this stroller but just google it online. I love it. I had a side by side mountain buggy & hated it. Way too wide. If you buy it I promise you will love it! I wouldn't trade it for anything else. Good luck.

My sister has twins and the only thing I have heard her say about double strollers is that the side-by-side models are a pain b/c they don't fit down aisles and are very challenging to stear.

Are you planning on using your stroller as a "walk from home" outdoors-type vehicle or a "take in the car" mall-type vehicle? If you are going to be taking it on the road I would recommend something you can easily get out of your car with one hand. We have a Combi side-by-side twin sport and it is the weight of an umbrella stroller. It also stands up by itself when folded. When my daughter was small I was able to pop her infant carrier (a Graco) on one side and my son rode on the other side. We never had any trouble fitting through aisles or doorways and if necessary I can hoist it up on my shoulder to bring it on the train at the zoo or up the escalator.

I love my city mini. I did have a Graco Duo Glider for a short while and I hated it. It was just so big and heavy. I love the sturdiness of the citi mini, and the nice ride it gives.

My best advice is to go to a store that has several models on the floor and try them out. We were ready to purchase one, and our son refused to get into it at 21 months - flat out refused to use the sit and stand, too.

We ended-up getting the Graco DuoGlide and have liked it relatively well - I'm sure you can find fault with anything. At 2 and almost 4, they still get in it when going to the zoo, etc. It isn't bad at the mall because it's a front/back instead of a side/side and can maneuver pretty easily.

We went to Babies R Us and took things for test drives to see how easy they were to steer, etc. Depending on how you're going to use it, how big your trunk it, etc. I'd really recommend both trying them out at a store and reading real-life reviews.

Good luck!

We went with a side by side Combi. LOVE IT! Our kids are 3 and 7 months.

It is light-weight. Folds in half twice so it is fairly compact. Stears well. Fits through doorways with relative ease. Has adjustable seat backs. We even used a graco infant carrier with it by nesting a "foot" in one cup and resting the base on the swing bar. We secured it in place with a clipping adjustable rope that hubby had (this seemed the way most worked anyway - with a strap). It was less expensive than most of the ones mentioned here. I really have nothing bad to say about it.

We had the Combi Twin Sport side-by-side when my girls were that age and loved it. It folds very compact and is comfortable for both ages. It fits down aisles and through standard doorways with no problem. We used it until my girls were 3 and 5 (and were walking everywhere). I had no complaints about it. We just sold it and I was actually kinda of sad to see it go.

I haven't heard of the Baby Jogger, but what I will suggest is a Phil and Ted Sport Stroller with double package. We tried the traditional Eddie Bauer double stroller first and I HATED IT. It was heavy and cumbersome, I couldn't stear it anywear and forget going for a walk on the farm roads around where I live.

Then I did some homework and found the P&T is superior to anything else I was considering. The rear seat can unclip to make it a single stroller later, or can clip to the front if you older one is walking and your little one wants to see. By moving the back guy up you've also got an instant highchair height for in food courts at malls etc. It's wonderful stroller, expensive but well worth the investment!

Make sure before you buy whatever you chose, that you find a baby store that will let you drive them. And I mean really drive them, not just push it back and forth in an aisle. Here where I live one of our specialty baby stores lets you even take it outside with an associate to make sure it's what you need.

Good luck! Let us know what you choose

I have the Baby Jogger City Mini for my 2 year-old and 5 month-old. I LOVE it!! Haven't had any problems, and so far it's fit everywhere I've taken it. I didn't get the carseat attachment and have been laying my baby down flat - he likes looking up and around for awile, then he usually falls asleep. It's a smooth ride and has great sun coverage. The only drawback to no carseat attachment is that you have to transfer the baby, but that has nothing to do with the stroller itself. As far as cons for the stroller, the under basket is rather useless due to the design where you have to put things in from the side, but I just bring my diaper bag and use the basket for a blanket or something else soft. I'd definately recommend the stroller!

I don't know if your 2 1/2 year old is ready for it yet, but I have the Sit and Stand stroller for my boys, and have been happy with it, especially for my older son since it's less restraining than a traditional double stroller. Good luck!
