Hi everyone! I am in need of some suggestions for some activities I can do with my children during the day. I have 2 two year old's. I mainly need ideas of activities or a good schedule to keep the toddlers entertained. My son has zero attention span which makes it a bit difficult to engage him in much. I would appreciate any advice!
Thanks so much MOMS!!!!!

If it's not too much trouble with 3, try hanging out at a mall play area. You can get Starbucks and relax for a few minutes while they go nuts. I was never a big fan of malls until I had a baby, now I go there a couple times a week. Have you found a mom's group? try www.meetup.com for one near you. Mine always has fun activities planned.

Hi J., I encourage you to check out your local chapter of MOMS Club. Not sure where you live but you can find it through the main website. There's always a calendar full of activities to choose from and playgroups to join. It is a group specifically for SAHM. Plus if you go to stuff there is usually a wide age range of kids so the little ones and older one always have someone to play with. I have made great friends since joining and so have my kids - good luck! The other two sites may give you some ideas too, thought they would help.

If you are interested Christ Church in Plano offers Bible Studies and Mom Groups (Moms n Mosaics and MOPS) and they have a wonderful free childcare while you enjoy fellowship. This gives me a much needed spiritual break and allows my daughter to play with other kids for about two hours. Check it out on their website under womens ministries christchurchplano.com (you do not have to be a member). It's only one day a week or once every two weeks depending on which you choose to do so it really doesn't cut into your time.

I would check out your local Mom's Club Chapters. I am involved in the Mom's Club and there is always a calendar full of fun activities for you to do with your kids. It is also the best way for you to meet other SAHM in your area. Check it out! The address is www.momsclub.org

Hello girl,
What I do when I take time off from work is to try to keep my three boys busy. I looked for a language guide to teach my kids, since I really want them to be bilingual. Also, I ordered a long time ago the Math on Phonics, and it really helps to keep them working on something constructive. We also visit our Great GrandMa as part of our routine during the week and read to her, or play table games with her at the retirement home. I don't know where you live, but willowbend, stonebriar, and firewheel are awesome malls to take your kids to play, while you read a book. I know your situation is different because you have little ones, but try to find ways to give them some solo time. You know the one thing I have learned is that they love their individual time with me. Check out your community pool as well, there is a water park in Allen on exchange parkway and Angel and is safe for your little ones too. I hope this helps a litle. =(

HI J., so feel your pain! I think just playing with your one year olds and once they are napping doing fun things with your 5 year old like playing board games and doing playdough, making cookies, reading with them, getting a big roll of butcher paper and rolling it out on the kitchen floor and coloring with her/him. Go to Hobby Lobby and look at all of the craft stuff. There are many things that both girls and boys love to do and make. One year olds are tough because they have about a 5-10 minute attention span. I think music and movement are good with little ones because they love repetition so much. Look into either some cds or DVDs that are geared toward that age group(your 5 year old may love it too)!I hope this helps and that you get yor sanity back! Blessings, J.

My one year old loves stickers! She will sit at the table and put them on her paper for quite a while.

Our schedule:
6:30 she gets up
7:00 breakfast; play time in playroom while I clean up
9:00 30 minute show (baby einstein, elmo)
9:30 outside
**we have been going outside first lately due to the heat
11:00 lunch; play time in playroom while I clean up
12:00-2:00 nap
2:30 snack; play time in playroom while I clean up
4:00 outside if okay
4:30 30 minute show while I cook dinner; table activity
5:30 dinner; play time in playroom
6:45 bath; play upstairs
7:15 book time & songs
7:30 night night

After each meal/snack I use my playroom so I can clean up real quick and then I let them out to play around the house. If I am running errands, I do so either from 9-10:30 or in the afternoon from 3:30-4:30ish.

we do: playdough, glue collage, stickers, aquadoodle, balls (yes in the house), riding toys in the house (small ones), coloring, dancing, dress up, puppets, musical instruments, etc. I put some toys up and rotate them...this helps a lot.

Good luck, I understand your issue,
K.
