Ideas for Holiday Gifts for Members of My Team

Hi everyone...this is my first time asking a question. I head up a team of 8 ladies ranging in age from 24 to 74 and am trying to think of a holiday gift that I can get each of them that would be the same, but still be appropriate for all ages. In the past, I've gotten a blanket, fuzzy slippers and a Chicken Soup book; also have gotten gift cards to restaurants. I'm looking for something unique and different. Any home based business moms got any ideas...I'm open to anything!!

Thanks!!!!!

Wow, you sure evoked a flood of home-based business promotions! I'm glad to see everyone so excited about their businesses.

If you want a homemade touch, cinnamon roasted nuts are very easy to make. I got a recipe for Cinnamon Roasted Almonds from AllRecipes.com a couple years ago and I keep reusing it. You basically mix up egg whites, sugar, cinnamon, and almonds, spread them on a cookie sheet, and bake for an hour, stirring a couple times. You could find similar ideas to create baskets of homemade snacks--maybe your kids would join you for some fun family kitchen time.

Another suggestion is a tea gift basket with some high-end teas, tea cookies, and maybe a mug. Tea is getting more popular, esp. green tea for health, and variety is growing. The new Wegmans here in Gainesville, VA has a phenomenal tea section including some fancy tea cookies I'm dying to try; how far are you from the Wegmans in MD? Teavana is another great place to buy tea; it's not cheap but it's wonderful.

You could make them home made natural beauty products like lotion or hands soap with their favorite scent. You can find the recipes online and most of the ingredients you can buy at whole foods. I just took such a class and plan to make gift baskets of bathsalt, toner, lotion and liquid soap for my inlaws. Once you buy the made ingredients it will be easy to make several of them.

Happy holidays

I am a big fan of giving gift baskets for gifts. This year I am making ice cream night baskets. In them I will include little sundae dishes, an ice cream scoop, several diffferent toppings including cherries, chocalate and caramel syrups, jimmies, nuts, etc. I will also includeesmall gift certificates to a grocery store so they can buy the ice cream.

In the past I have made movie baskets with popcorn, soda, twizzlers, snowcaps, etc and a gift certificate to a movie rental store.

For my in laws I like to make several 'freezable' meals in the week before Christmas. I freeze family size portions for them and my family gets dinner out of it too. I make things like chili, meatballs and gravy, chicken and dumplings, spaghetti sauce, etc.

Theree are lots of ideas out there. I hope my ideas helped. Good luck and Happy Holidays!

Hi P.! You are so thoughtful, and thanks for opening up your question to us HBB moms! What woman doesn't love a new lipstick shade(or lip gloss in the case of the younger set)? I am a Mary Kay consultant, and I've often created gift certificates for groups like yours. They can either choose a color or use it toward any item she may need, and it's always 100% satisfaction guaranteed. You can make the gift certificate in any denomination. Our lipsticks are normally priced at $13, but with your Mamasource discount, I'd be happy to make a cute lipstick gift certificate for $10 each (or again, $10 toward anything she needs). I'm listed on the Member Perks, and you can look at my website to see some other gift ideas www.marykay.com/kbixby (Satin Hands also comes to mind!). My cell # is ###-###-#### and I'm local to the NRV/Blacksburg so feel free to e-mail or call if I can help. And God bless you, full time single working Mom of teenagers!! Can I pamper you one day?:)
Hoping to hear from you!

I had a team of similar ages (dont know if we had anyone older than 65 though) but the fav gift I got them was when I did a movie night basket. I actually bought small popcorn bowls at Crate & Barrell, but I've heard the dollar store and other stores carry more reasonable versions, and I added a few bags of microwave popcorn, a few packages of "movie theater" candy (I went old school with snow caps, dots, etc) and a gift cert. to Blockbuster. Depending on how much you want to spend you could also include a gift cert. for pizza delivery. I put fun colored shredded package filler and wrapped it all up in cellophane with a nice bow. Everyone loved it!

To make it special, print up some cute/funny certificates. They could be official looking, funny looking, personalized...etc.

Hi, The gift that people have loved is a frother. You buy it at Bed Bath Beyond type place or online. You put milk in your coffee cup, use the frother for a minute and just like starbucks etc you have your own cappucino or latte. The brand I have is Aerolatte. Some come with a stand, some don't. Whenever i use mine, people are like what's that, i want one!

I have a gift business at the Riva Rd Farmer's Market in Annapolis. We are at the corner of Harry S Truman Parkway and Riva Rd. It is every Sat. from 7 am - Noon. And it will be open until the Sat before Christmas. I make Southern Pecan Pralines and Cinnamon Spiced Nuts. They are in individual and gift sizes and packaged for the holidays ($3, $9, $12). If homemade treats are not what you like - the entire market is dressed up for the holidays with hand crafted gifts by all the vendors. It's really unique as all of us are here in Anne Arundel County. I hope to see you and some Moms from these boards. Look for me at my gift table with samples - I call myself Old Macdonald's Farm and the other vendors call be "The Nut Lady" or "Praline Lady". Happy Holidays!!!

Dear P. ~

Unique and different is always appreciated but do think of gifts that your recipients might not get for themselves. A beautiful journal, an inspirational book, an attractive photo frame are all gift-worthy choices that you can individualize for your 8 team members. (You could pick 8 different photo frames and make each gift more personal!) Movie or event tickets, a CD or DVD, or perhaps an aromatherapy candle with bath salts may encourage an evening of much-deserved holiday relaxation.
My favorite helper for unique holiday gifts is my Arbonne rep, Maribeth Crooks, who has a mom-owned business on this site. She offers great ideas and helps me stay within my budget when choosing gifts for my clients. I highly recommend Maribeth.
Good luck!

Hi P.! We did a Christmas exchange last year and took a foot pampering kit we purchsed through Melaleuca as our gift. It was a HUGE hit! I'm thinking of the foot papmering kit, a movie night kit (popcorn, candies etc.) and The Secret on DVD. Since you said 'your team' I am assuming it's a business team, maybe? The Secret gets you thinking and it sure has helped my business growth! And the man who wrote the Chicken Soup book is on the video sharing his success story.

Don't know if you have a Southern Living at HOME consultant, but if you are interested in viewing a catalog, there are definitely some "generic" products which will suit your needs.
I can mail a catalog to you, or you can go to www.southernlivingathome.com to check out the catalog. For the month of Sept. SLAH is offering special deals for multiple gift giving. For instance, a set of 3 petite bud vases for $23.95; a set of 3 tole-painted tin flower pots for $32.95; the set of olive jar trios for $55.95, etc. Let me know if I can help. I will be having an holiday open house at the end of November and would be happy to add an order for you.

I have started to design and sell stationery that can be customized for your preference. They are really fun and a gift that you can give to so monay. I have cards with polka dots, stripes, and even favorite team logos (Ravens, Redskins, college teams, etc.). I usually do 10 in a set with matching envelopes, 10 address labels that I package with some really fun, stylish ribbon. I have several (a lot) of designs available for children, adults, and even some that can be used for an entire family. The card can include a monogram, just initials, or the entire name of an individual.I have received all positive feedback from customers and would love to help anyone in anyway I can. Great gift ideas for the holidays~teachers, friends, family members, hair dresser, and so MANY MORE people you can shop for right here. I also run a home based business, and I have a product package that may be of interest to you as a gift for your team members.
Not knowing what your business is, I do know that women love comfort items... as you already understand with your gifts of blankets, fuzzy slippers etc. I offer an at home 'SPA Kit'. For $20 per person, you get a little SPA bag containing some eyepads, a lip treatment, a warming facial mask, hand creme & foot creme. It's a great starter kit for the woman with no time, but the need for a little pampering. Excellent, top of the line Spa products. Other items available from my webpage, but this item is a great gift and something I offer that is not available on the website. However there are other prepackaged and wrapped items on my site.
Let me know if I can help. Everyone woman deserves pampering!!

Hi P.,

Have you heard of Tastefully Simple? They are gourmet foods that are either open and enjoy or just take one or two ingredients to prepare. They make perfect gifts for anyone because we all have to eat! It's also a nice choice because you don't have to worry about size and it's not another trinket that needs to be dusted. I don't know how elaborate you want to go, but they have items beginning at just $3.99. So you could always just choose a dessert as a sweet treat or you could do a complete meal with soup, beer bread, and a dessert and still stay under $20 a person. There is also a good variety of gift sets that start at $24.95. Shipping is easy because it can all be shipped to you or to any of your recipients. If you'd like to see their products, I can mail you a catalog just email me at ____@____.com or you can always shop online at www.tastefullysimple.com/web/nfields
