HELP! I have two sons, a 2 1/2 year old and 7 month old. When my first son turned one we decided to make a video of pics and memories from his first year along with a song. We used a version of "somewhere over the rainbow" and it was awesome. We would like to add a song/pics for each year and make a nice keepsake for them and us. Does anyone have any thoughts for songs that we could use? Love to hear from you...

What can I do next?

Hi D.,
I made a video of pics to music for the first year of my son's life. Then I made another for his second. I'm already thinking about next year's video. :o) The first two still make me cry. I've used some that were already suggested.
Here are the other songs I used:
Nothing's Gonna Harm You - mimi Bessette
It's alright to be little bitty - Alan Jackson
Forever young - Rod Stewart
Beautiful Boy - Celine Dion
Thank God for kids - Kenney Chesney (others have sung it too and it's a great one!)
Movin' right along - muppets (used this one for the travel section of the video)
I hope you dance - Lee Ann Womack
I'm thinking this year's may include
Top of the world - Karen Carpenter (yes, I was a child of the 70s)
How Sweet it is to be loved by you - James Taylor.
Blessed - Elton John

Have fun. It's so great to look back. I burn copies and give them as part of our Christmas gift to my son's grandparents and great grandparents.

The song I danced to with my father at my wedding is called "I Am Your Child" by Barry Manilow. Now I know what you're thinking, but it really is a GREAT song. Give it a try.

I would suggest maybe uing a song that was popular that year. It would be neat for them to be able to see the trends in music change through the years. Or for the first year I can suggest the song Beautiful Boy, I am not sure who sings it, but I know it is in the movie Mr. Hollands Opus. Another on that might be neat is My Generation by The Who. Hope these help!! Have Fun

I'm in the process of doing one and I'm using "Seasons of Love" from the broadway musical Rent. I love that song.
