What are your interests and price range?

The Walker Art Museum is FREE every Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until closing (I think 9:00 p.m.).

Here in the TC metro, we are so blessed with so many museums, many of them are gems that most have never heard from. The St. Paul Libraries have museum passes that you can "check out", and give you free admission (either for 2 or for 4) to various museums.

Do you like live theater? Most of the smaller theaters have tickets in the $15-$20 range.

I've never done this, but I think it would be cool to have a "progressive" dinner at three different restaurants. Go to one restaurant for drinks and appetizer, and a second for the entree, and a third for dessert.

C.,
My husband and I have enjoyed "bar bingo" on our date nights a number of times. Many bar/restaurants are now having a bingo night once a week. Its a blast! You have time with your hubby and can win money to boot!
Have fun, whatever you do!

We're always trying to come up with fun or different things to do or go to on dates too. We don't like to go to movies since you can't talk there and it's already hard enough to get time to talk without the kids interrupting.

We have looked into:
Rollerblading at the Metrodome
ice skating at the Depot in Mpls.
meals at various new restaurants
hiking new trails
visiting the park where he proposed
made Let's Dish meals together
shopped (without the kids!)
cross-country skiing
canoeing
playing cards or games
finding a club or restaurant with live music (ex.Dixie's on Grand in St. Paul)

Good luck and have fun!

Our favorite place to eat on a date night is Broder's. It's delish and not too expensive, and the atmosphere is really cool. Otherwise, for stuff to do, bowling's always fun. Or if you guys like arcade games, go to a place like Gameworks downtown and bowl AND arcade! That can be different and fun too. Good luck!

Hi C.,

My husband and I have fun being competitive.... so when we get a night to ourselves we'll do fun games, like bowling, darts, pool.... things along those lines. It's fun to bet on the games, too.

Sometimes, we will pretend to be young again. We'll go to a place that has arcade/kid type games and play. Stonefire pizza is a great place to do this.

Hope these ideas help! Enjoy your date night!

Hi C. - I don't know your financial situation, but I once made a real picnic in the living room floor - cooked picnic food, spread out a blanket on the floor and turned on a nature tape that sounded like springtime...It was better than the real thing, becuase we didn't have to worry about being arrested for what happened after the meal :-)

Miniature golf is a fun date--of course, it is really cold here, so maybe not yet--but we always enjoy it and you can still talk to each other!
