Ideas for 3 Year Old Birthday Party

If you're doing it in the next few weeks, you might enjoy the Royal Oak Farm Orchard in Harvard, IL. We just went there last week for a field trip and it was a lot of fun. They do have birthday party options which are about $10-15/person, or you could go for just a simple tour which is about $3-7/person, depending on the day and such, and then bring a cake to have in the pavilion after the tour. Not sure on what you are planning to spend per person but this might be an idea. We just took our 2 year old to a place just like this while on vacation and she had a blast. Because we were doing this as thank you gifts to family who were watching our dogs we only bought pieces the size of magnets at about $3 each piece. I am not sure if they have this small of pieces though here. Definately something to take a look into! Grandma and Grandpa love having thier magnets displayed proudly on their fridge!

I know you are avioding your house, but your child may not even remember the party. We had our oldest party at our house, and had brunch. I invited for 9 or 9:30. Made an egg dish (super easy, just mix and bake.), a baked frech toast thing, again mix and bake, had fruit, juice, doughnut holes and coffee cake. It was cheap and the kids had fun and were done by 12. I had maybe 10 kids and their moms. We decided with our kids, we are only inviting those kids at this young age that are current in their lives and that they see regularly.

I have two suggestions...McDonald's (the one in Fox River Grove on Rte 14 is rarely crowded) is great because you can just take a few kids to go play. You could even plan it for mid morning and avoid buying meals if you want. Maybe just purchase cookies and milk for the kids. Second, I don't have a specific location in mind, but I know there are several "farms" in the area that offer child activities...a train ride, petting zoo, pumpkin picking, etc. Maybe something like that would be good.

My sister had her sons 3rd birthday at playplace @Carlsons Ice Arena in Rockford. Other wise we had my sons birthday at a pool. what about taking a couple of your childs friends to a movie and fast food. Other wise there is DinoRex and you can just buy wrist bands for the kids instead of a party. My friend did it at burger king in woodstock, not sure if you have a play place in crystal lake. For my daughter's three year old we just let her invite two or three of her friends from the neighborhood and we took them to Burger King. She loves that play area. They had a blast and played hard for about two hours...after they ate of course. Then we got soft serve icecream. They had a blast
