If you have been bleeding heavily for 14 years, WHY are you asking about it NOW? Shouldn't you have asked your doctor 14 years ago????

Call your doctor NOW and make an appointment.

Welcome to mamapedia...

Your doctor/OB/GYN says WHAT about this?

Your post makes NO SENSE!

You had two miscarriages AFTER your tubes being tied?
You've been bleeding for 14 years?
Two wishes? No blood on your clothes is one - what is the other?

You need to talk to you GYN about this. I haven't had a period on over 2 years (and I'm only 44), and my GYN said that I'm one of the lucky ones because most women experience very heavy periods as they age. I'm not sure what that means, but she did! And that's what matters. Your GYN should know what you are experiencing or at least be able to run some tests to make sure this is normal and if not, what needs to happen.

Having your tubes tied doesn't affect any developments with fibroid s or endometriosis.
Please see your doctor - make sure all this bleeding isn't making your anemic or is some sign of cancer (rare but a friend of mine had bleeding issues and it turned out to be an early sign of breast cancer - she went through a lumpectomy, and chemo and is fine today).
They might recommend an ablation or maybe a hysterectomy.
A hysterectomy should certainly put an end to it.

Welcome to Mamapedia, S..

I'm sorry you have such heavy bleeding. Just to clarify, you mean you have had heavy periods for almost 14 years? Or heavy bleeding unrelated to your menstrual cycle? I think you are saying this is not pregnancy related since you had your tubes tied, right? Are you asking if the tubal ligation could cause this, or just telling us that you've ruled out pregnancy? Can you add some info (edit your question, don't delete what you've already written but just write "Edited to Add" or ETA and then put in more info.

We are just ordinary moms, not medical professionals. Can you tell us what your discussions have been like with your primary care doctor or your OB at your annual physicals? Have you been evaluated for other things, from fibroids to endometriosis to hormonal abnormalities to many other things?

It's just so hard to give you any advice or support without some background on what has already been discussed, treated or tested for by your doctor.

I am on an IUD for heavy periods. It's not for birth control.

I also had a full check (biopsy) to make sure there was no reason for my heavy bleeding.

I would talk to your OBGYN.

so from what i understand you have had heavy bleeding with your periods for 14 years. so heavy for the first 3 days that you have to wish that you don't get blood on your clothing from the heavy period... right? if this is the case then why did you wait so long? you should of talked to your gyn about this. there are things to assist with heavy periods.. tubes tied or not. (my sister in law has her tubes tied, and after 3 or 4 heavy periods she asked her dr about it.. dr put her on a pill a day that regulates the period and adds iron on the period week to prevent anemia.)
so please talk to your dr about this and don't delay.
