I like ANYTHING with Will Ferrel.
He's so funny, Some of his movies include: Night at the Roxberry, Talladega Nights, Old School, Anchor Man.
I also like The Producers, The Bird Cage. Some new ones are What Happens In Vegas, Bounty Hunter, The Ugly Truth....i coulkd list tons..have fun!! =D
Also, have you seen Dirty Rotten Scoundrels with Steve Martin? It's not a slapstick, but there are a couple scenes that still bring tears to my eyes from laughing so hard, even after watching it 6+ times.
Today I was at walmart , and I saw a lady go by talking on her phone pushing a prob 1 yr old in the cart , she was just talking away, baby was going through her purse.
Wanna guess what he pulled out to chew on???
Yep a Tampon.
Kid was chowing down on a tampon , mom was just talking away oblivious to her son chewing on her tampon.
yes I knew this post was about movies , I just wanted to share a laugh.
Didn't read ALL the posts but didn't see one of our favorites.....it's a PG movie unlike some of the others but Galaxy Quest makes me belly laugh EVERY time I see it. Justin Long was a kid...Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman....
We love The Wedding Singer, Oh Brother Where Art Thou, Home Fries, The Long, Long Trailer (with Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz), Pillow Talk with Doris Day and Rock Hudson.
I don't know if you can rent him on DVD, but Jim Gaffigan is an absulutely hilarious comedian and he's not dirty either. He's on Comedy Central a lot and we laugh our heads off everytime we watch him.
Laughter is good for the soul.
I hope you get some great responses.
Arsenic and Old Lace (Cary Grant)
The Producers (Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder)
A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum
It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World
The Money Pit (Tom Hanks and Shelly Long)
Planes, trains and automobiles with John Candy and Steve Martin is a classic. If you need a good laugh check out http://awkwardfamilyphotos.com/ - photos people have submitted of family, kids, etc. that are just BAD - with hilarious captions. I looked at this this a.m. and literally was at my computer laughing until I cried!
Almost any Judd Apatow movie... "Superbad," " Forgetting Sarah Marshall," "40 Year Old Virgin," " Knocked Up."
"I Love You, Man."
A little bit older, "Along Came Polly."
And very old, but still one of my favorite rom coms, "When Harry Met Sally."
interesting i hate those movies who forcefully try to make you laugh. hate anything w/jim carey, will farrell etc
but lately i have found myself laughing with the series cougar town (funny as hell) and old episodes of everybody loves raymond
Superbad was pretty funny. Spinal Tap is hilarious (as well as most of those Christopher Guest mockumentary movies). I also love anything with Ben Stiller (especially Dodgeball, for some reason, it cracks me up). You've gotten some really good suggestions already - I haven't seen all of them, so now I also have a list of movies to check out. Thanks for the question!
Along the lines of funniest home videos - check out Tosh.O on the tv. Can't remember the channel, but it's the youtube version of Funniest Home Video. I don't know what it is about this guy, but he's the only person I know of that can make these youtube videos funny. Enjoy!
Try "Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo". I especially like the reactions and facial expressions of Deuce when he discovers who his date is. Then it's very sweet the way he makes them feel good about themselves.
So I Married an Axe Murderer w/ Mike Meyers - old but funny and shot in SF. It's a romantic comedy believe it or not.
My Cousin Vinney
The Whole 9 Yards
And I love all of John Cusak's comedies - I have a dark sense of humor.
Okay, here's my favorite..... Mighty Aphrodite. It's a Woody Allen movie and the one that Mira Sorvino won her Oscar for, I think, in 1996. Her character has a fair amount of four-letter words in it, but not because she is a foul-mouthed woman just to swear. But she literally doesn't know any better. She is a big-hearted adult film actor who may possibly be the mother of the son that Woody Allen's character adopts with his wife, played by Helena Bonham Carter. The scene where these two meet is hysterical ("refund!" "refund!"). The rest of the movie has a bunch of funny stuff in it as well.
I actually used part of that movie for a dialect final in college (I was a theatre major). You'll recognize it if you see it, but it was the scene about the "onion farmer". Just picture it with a Swedish accent. Fun, fun, fun!
Catch Me If You Can (Leonardo)
How to lose a guy in 10 days
Fried Green Tomatoes
Men In Black, Men In Black 2, 3
Robin Hood Men in Tights
The Italian Job
Ocean's 11, Ocean's 12, Ocean's 13
Ever After (more of a drama but still good)
Secondhand Lions (starts slow but has some really funny moments)
Meet the Fockers
8 Heads in a Dufflebag
Mr. and Mrs. Smith
Oscar (sylvester stallone- very unique, funny movie- can't watch it only once!)
Sweet Home Alabama (more of a drama, but still very funny)
The Blues Brothers (hubby's favorite)
Our favorite comedian DVD's:
Jeff Dunham- Spark of Insanity
Jeff Dunham- Arguing with Myself
Most definitely: The British version of The Office is hilarious. Ricky Gervais is the master of comedy as David Brent and so is MacKenzie Crook as Gareth. If I ever need a pick me up, I put in The Office dvd. Also, I like The Birdcage, Mixed Nuts, The Ref, Home Alone, and Meet the Fockers.
Ron Burgundy, Taladega Nights, I'm gonna get you sucka, My cousin Vinnie,40 Year Old Virgin,Old School,White Chicks,All the fridays, All about the benjamins, Everybody hates chris, the list goes on and on!
We also like Dodgeball, but truly one of our favorite comedies is Idiocracy with Luke Wilson. Soooooooo hilariously funny (but not appropriate for the kids!) and it gets better every time you watch it.
We also get a kick out of Yesman with Jim Carrey. Even the kids liked that one!
