we wiped his butt and after looking at the wipe there was a small trace of blood on it.
and he keeps saying ouch butt. and trying to grab it and scratch it. and i also felt around the anus area and felt a somewhat hard "lump" on the inside. from what i felt on the outside. does this sound like a hem? he isnt constipated i dont think he went twice tonight. once hard stool and second very runny from a anti biotic hes on for a bad cold.
what do yas think? i feel very bad for him.

What can I do next?

If the first stool was hard, he may have gotten a little anal fissure. Add more fluids to his diet and soak him in a warm tub for a few minutes every day and be very gentle when wiping until he is healed. The lump you felt may be more hard stool waiting to come out.

It's not a hemorrhoid unless he's been straining with bowel movements for some time. Hemorrhoids just do not appear without straining. I suggest it's a fissure that's caused by a stool that's a bit too large. You said he had a hard stool. I get them every once in awhile from a firmer than usual stool. I know. TMI lol And the anus does hurt a bit and then itches when he heals.

The lump could be a fold in the intestine that is part of the upper part of the anus.

I suggest you call the advice nurse.

He needs to see the doctor, i have an idea of what it is but don't care to get slammed for my opinion (it's been a bad few days and after i vented to the hospice coordinator today that oversaw our care for my Dad I have no energy left.) Get him to the doctor.
