I do special events and I ave been asked to suggest games for a "Baby Shower", but it is for a Uncle adopting his 16 year old nephew! So a little different.

I have come up with a funny relay. We are thinking of a "Pin a tshirt on the Teen.".
But I would like 1 or 2 more ideas. It can be a game or something people have to write down.

This is a really fun family. They love games and getting together. And yes, this teen is excited aboutt his gathering.. He is a great kid.

We are doing a cookout with lemonade for drinks.
For Dessert Ice cream and the Cake will have a pair of Giant Tennis shoes that look like they are stomping on the cake. All in a Baby Blue color.
I know you are all very clever..
Thanks, for your help.

What can I do next?

At my sisters baby shower we did "feel in the diaper bag and guess the contents" (and then the *fully loaded* bag was her gift) - maybe do that "teen style" with a backpack? So, you could have iPod, ear buds, tennis shoes etc.

Is there anything he's "into"? You could do "guess the amount of...." Only with whatever he's "into" (again, then the "stash" is part of the gift).

What about doing some game involving texting lingo (like LOL, OMG, etc.). See how many people know what the most popular and maybe the most obscure text short cuts are! I'm sure you could google a list and tons would pop up! You could do a similar thing with popular songs or TV shows that teens like...or some True False type game with things that are "cool" to teens now a days. It might be fun to reverse it too and see if the teen can guess the T/F things that were "cool" in his parent's age!

Maybe a teen driving game.

You could make some colored ice cubes, then tape paper to something hard (or maybe use cardboard...) draw a driving course, and have the guests try to guide the ice cube from start to finish and "park" it. You could either have them tip the board, and use gravity... Or maybe a straw and they have to blow. either one can be made into a team game if you make bigger courses. Whoever stays on the road the best, wins.

Umm... You can ban certain "teen" words. Whoever says "like" or "whatever" or whatever word(s) you choose has to face a penalty. Maybe put a red gem (teenager acne is a notorious problem. Lol.) on their face, and whoever has the "clearest" skin at the end wins a prize... Maybe a bottle of face wash. Lol.

It is a 16 year old boy... You could do shaving cream on balloons, and whoever shaves it the fastest without popping it wins.

A trivia game with questions about the dad and son--likes, dislikes, things they do together
A variation of the Baby Item Tray game using items a teen boy would like--show a tray with the items and then leave the room, everyone writes down as many as they can remember
Instead of clues for lullabies, do clues for popular songs a teen boy might like or filling in the blank to popular songs
Guess the celebrity teen using hints like what movie they are in or song they sing

My cousin had a game that I found to be a really clever trick on the guests. She walked around to each table with a tray full of baby stuff and gave them instructions to "remember what you see" She then walked out of the room with the tray and the guests were asked questions about the mom to be... What color was her nail polish? What kind of earrings was she wearing? How many bracelets did she have on? What type of shoes was she wearing? etc. everyone was too busy trying to remember the items on the tray that it was hard to recall details about her.

At my shower every person had an envelope with a stickered seal (not the licky kind) and inside the closed envelope, there was an index card with a baby word on it (bib, bottle, rattle, etc). They had 30 seconds to rip open the envelope and draw the item. Then they had to put the index card back into the envelope and write their name on it. They were told that I would be the judge, but nothing more. When the envelopes were turned in, I went through them and found the one that was opened the neatest. It had nothing to do with drawing skills at all! I had about 40 women at my shower and only 2 envelopes were not ripped up!

How about a twist on "The Game of Things"? We played this for the first time this summer and loved it. You can make your own. Everyone gets small slips of paper (all evenly sized) and the same color pen or pencils. Each person takes a turn asking a question that you would come up with. It could be a question like, "Name something you should never do while driving." Then the person who read the question reads all the answers. Everyone else takes turns one at a time trying to guess any person and what they said. For example, the first person might guess, "John said 'eat spaghetti'." People will be as funny or blah as they want. If the person guesses right, then they get a point and get to keep guessing. If they guess wrong, the next person around the circle guesses. Once a person is guessed correctly, they are out for that question. You keep going around the circle until all answers are guessed. We laughed so hard because people will be shocked that you guessed they said something or we laughed because some people give hilarious answers.

Great ideas here! One other would be a bingo type game with the boys name if it works. You could use pictures of stuff teenagers would have for the boards. We used candy for the markers.
