I Need a Pediatrician in North Oakland County

I take both my children to SG Pediatrics in Lake Orion. They are in the newer beaumont building on M-24. There are 3 Pediatricians Rao, Perla, and Sampath. They are Fabulous with my children ages 3.5 and 1. They have seperate sick and well waiting rooms and offer same day sick appointments.

Hi C.. I actually live in Clarkston and work in Pontiac. I love our pediatrician. Her name is Fidelina Baraceros. She is wonderful! My kids love her too. She is the only doctor in the practice, but I never have a problem getting them in to see her if I need to. She is almost directly across from St. Joe's hospital. Nice and convenient for me on the days I work (I work at St Joe!). Hope this helps.

Hi C.! Welcome to motherhood! The importance of having a ped BEFORE the baby is that they visit you soon after delivery, and they check your baby. It is nice to have a relationship prior. Drs allot time in their appt schedule just for being interviewed by potential new patients. My girls and I absolutely LOVE Drs Coleman and Schilling! They are mothers, and are very accomodating with all of our requests! They have a practice at Sq Lake and Woodward-Pediatric Specialists of Bloomfield Hills-and their website is:www.pedspecialists.com. We live in Oxford, so the drive is not bad-20 mins. Good luck!

We use Premiere Pediatrics, of course it's about 15 minutes north of you in Clarkston. We love it because they have 4 different doctors to choose from, they have a well room and a sick room so when you go for a well-baby check up you aren't exposing your newborn to germs and each room is decorated in a fun theme for the kids, like Nemo, Pooh, etc. (and I mean decorated to the hilt, stuffed animals suspended from the ceiling, large framed pictures and or paintings, wall paper, etc.). If you don't mind a slight drive they're fantastic. It's right off the freeway at exit #91 in the same building as Mesquite Creek.

I use Dr. Glenn Bauer in Waterford, right next to Oakland County Airport. He is a one man office, with just him and a receptionist, but he has evening and weekend hours and he is always able to get us in and actually spends time talking with me about what is going on and how the kids are progressing. He does all the shots himself (not a nurse) and really gets to know all the kids. Oh, and he gave me his home number to call him if I have questions in the evenings or weekends. My family doctor specializes in pediatrics, has a wonderful partner and his wife is also an ob/gyn in the same office. They practice in the POH Lake Orion office. 46 W.Shadbolt, Lake Orion, 48360. Right off Lapeer Rd. in downtown Lake Orion. His name is Dr. Richard Cohen, his partner is Dr. Gary Holloway, his wife is Dr. Diana Cohen. They all take extra time to really listen to your concerns and are really good. My suggestion is try to make an appointment to interview different doctors and see who fits your style. Hi C., I just had my baby girl and she is now 9 weeks old. We really like our Pediatricians;) They are in Rochester Hills across from Pier One and Old Navy (if you know the area just south of Avon Road). There are several doctors there, we prefer Dr. Schnur and Dr. Antone. Dr. Schnur is older and seems to have a lot of experience, Dr. Antone is younger and is very open to new ideas and lotts of information. They were both written up in the Hour magazine as "top Docs" a couple years ago. Its not a bad drive for you if you cut through on Orion Road. Anyway we like them a lot and they have seperate sick and well sides as well as really friendly nurses who you can call anytime with questions. Good luck with your pregnancy and new baby:) J. S.

Hi C., I myself just had my first baby, she is now a healthy 4 month baby girl. My obstetrication was able to recommend a pediatrician, they actually gave me a list of referrels. Some things to look for when finding a pediatrician; make sure the office is split between a WELL side and a SICK side as when you go to your first checkup you don't want any other sick children around your precious new bundle. Make sure also that when you call into the office after hours, than the on-call doctor calls you back and not an answering service (its difficult to explain to someone who is not certified the problem with your baby when you are scared yourself). I found taking a visit to offices in the area helped. Ultimately you have to feel comfortable with the pediatrician and that is what ended up making our overall decisions. Hope this helps!

I LOVE my Peditrition they are in Lake orion in the Beaumont Medical Office SG Pediatrics I LOVE all the DR they are a forien (Wich I normally have a hard time understanding, but I LOVE them!!!) The Dr call you back them selfs and they gaurentee same day appt for sick. My daughter is now 19 months old and I have not had any problems or complaints on them. Good Luck!!
