I Need a New (Affordable) Daycare

I am in a horrible place as far as daycare goes. Everyday when I pick my child up she is a mess! When I was seeking a daycare I wanted someone older to watch my child. I think this woman is too old (and burnt out) to watch my child. On more than one occasion I have gone to get her unexpectedly and found her locked alone in a laundry room in a play pen. Also, everyday when I pick her up her clothes are soiled with urine and feces. She does not even bother to change her clothes. The children in this home are locked in a playroom all day with the television on and little adult supervision. She also lets them snack all day on junk food. The last straw was drawn when I picked her up last week and she was litteraly covered in feces. It was in her hair her ears her nose and all over her clothes. Another child had taken her diaper off and was playing with it. My daughter got into it naturally. Later that night she was vomiting feces. I know what you are thinking...why so you not take her out of there? Well it is not that simple I am a single mother and can not even afford to pay the $400 a month that she charges now and she never really says anything about it. I can not get state help because they say I make too much money. It breaks my heart to take my daughter to this place but at the same time I have to work. I am all she has. I desperatly need help. Any ideas?

I have done this too. Where do you live? The daycare I am currently at I love, but I have to leave due to transportation issues. It is little prints in Meridian on pine. Seems avordable, but my children are older so I am not sure what toddler prices are. This is a very clean happy place, there is never a smell, except clean! you know what I mean. infact they insist on a couple of sets of clothes incase they get dirty, and they wash the cloths and blankets there if they need to. I really love them.

Hello T.,

I hope you and you little one are doing well.

I have just opened a family child care facility called Crockett Kiddie Care and we are now excepting new enrollments. We are a state licensed facility, ICCP Certified and trained in pediatric first-aid and CPR. CKC is focused on safe, reliable, affordable child care for your little one. We follow a daily schedule that includes story time, out-side play, circle time, arts and crafts and less then one hour of an educational video (Baby Einstein) per day. We also serve healthy meals and snacks that include fruits and veggies every time.
As of now, we have two children enrolled, one is 18 months and one is 12 weeks old. Your daughter will have the best care provided by myself (mother of two) and Ms. Tere (ex-nanny).
CKC is located at Maple Grove and Lake Hazel Rd. in the Fiddlers Glenn Subdivision. If you have any questions or need more info. on rates and references please feel free to contact me at ____@____.com and I will e-mail you any more information that you might need.

Good luck and I hope you find the perfect place for your little girl :)

Thank you,
K.

I don't know where you live, but there is an excellent daycare in downtown Boise called Giraffe Laugh Child Care Center. A friend of mine that's also a single parent sends her child there, and I know she loves it, although she is very pickey about where she sends her child. I know they work with parents who need financial help with daycare, and I'm sure they can work with you. Please contact them if they are in your area - I know that the lady who works with the under two year olds is really a good care giver and my friend just loves her. Not having enough money to pay your current daycare is no excuse for her to treat your child that way!

Remove her now and call the city to inspect her for child neglect. Your daughter could get very sick or hurt there. Call Care source at 211 to find an new center today!!!!! They have lists and prices. You and your daughter deserve better. I am almost positive there are other places that would work with you.

Please don't ever take your baby back there. I don't know what you can do, but I'll help you figure it out, if you want. Email me, I'll help. I'm so sorry. I just really feel for you and your daughter....

What area of town do you live in? Are you seeking in home childcare or a center? Could you please share the name of this place your daughter attends currently so other parents know to avoid this place? I am so sorry about your experience....I agree with other folks....take her out immediately and report this woman to the state. This is very serious. I can give you some names if you are still in need.
