I am pregnant in the market to buy a great chair for our bedroom for nursing etc. in the middle of the night. I had a horrible old recliner w/my son and it was so hard to get in and out of and just overall uncomfortable. I'd end up jostling my poor baby so much trying to get out of the darn thing that he would wake up. Does anyone have any recommendations on a chair they love? Either a recliner or a great rocker/glider?? I'd like to spend no more than $500. Thank you! :)

What can I do next?

We love our Dutalier glider/rocker... yes, they are pricey though. We got ours as a gift and are so grateful for it... we have definitely put a lot of miles on that thing rocking our little one while reading stories, etc. If I were you, I'd go to a store that sells several brands and sit in different ones. Huge differences between them all, and you know what you like specifically. Check out www.babycatalog.com for good deals or even craigslist.com because people are selling them all of the time on there. If we didn't receive ours as a gift, we would have definitely gone to Craig's List. The cushions can always be cleaned, fabric replaced, etc, if there's any problems. Oh, and splurge for microfiber if you can for easy cleaning. :-)

I have a father that is 6'3 and almost 300lbs and I am not a little lady either. They bought a Walmart glider/rocker that broke after a few months of his sitting in it. That's when we found the Dutalier rockers from Canada, and when I got pregnant I asked for one as a gift. They will last your lifetime, they will hold your biggest family member, and the baby safely, and they are the most comfy chairs you will ever sit in. Go to that website and click on "retailers" and you can locate a retalier near you and go try out a few of them. They are the best chairs in the world in my opinion and they don't cost that much considering thier quality! Some stores have great sales at certain times of the year and you can find great deals, that's how I got mine, it was like $100 off and cost about $350 nine years ago. You will love them, I promise.

i absolutely love our glider; it is oversized and so comfy, its a soft fuzzy material that is light green with white polka dots, it came with a matching ottoman that also glides, and it was about $500. we got it at costco!

It's not guaranteed, but I found mine at Once Upon a Child in Temecula for $60. It's not great, but I like it and it serves it's purpose. You could also try craigslist. It's a glider, and the only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't have padded arms- definately get padded arms.

I have recently had the need to buy some furniture for the house. I recommend ebay and overstock.com if you are looking for a great deal.

Good luck
