I Need a Good Salon!

Where should I go in the Tulsa area to get a great haircut. I have had the same style for 10 years and need a change. I need a stylist who will take into consideration my hair type, face shape and lifestyle in order to give me the right cut. Any recommendations? I know there are a lot of great salons but I really want someone who will take the time and be professional and honest-and good. I'm looking for the "Nick Arojo" experience-check him out on TLC's What Not to Wear if you don't know who I'm referring to!

So What Happened?

I tried out Ihloff Salon last weekend. The service was great, I got a hand massage while my hair was being cut! I didn't feel out of place and the staff was very friendly. I had my cut done by a Senior Designer for $54. Sorry to say, I could have gotten the same effect from a $12 Supercuts. I was really hoping for something more. I would recommend the salon but suggest going with one of the lower priced stylists, I bet the outcome would be the same! Thank you everyone for your great advice.

Try Enrique at Enrique's. He gave my 14 year old daughter a new do and it frames her face and looks great. NOt the typical teenage haircut. He also cuts my hair and I am always pleased with it. He is located at 101st and Yale behind the AAA place. My cut and style was $35 and my perm, cut and style was $65. Tell him I sent you if you go. HIs wife runs the appointment desk.

I have to go with Ross Edwards as well. The message they gave my scalp before the cut was worth it alone!!

Kristy,
Hello. I personally recommend Melissa at Hair fx, located at 51st & Memorial in the Fontana shopping center. Their website is www.serioushair.com for more info. I think Melissa is great, I usually get great compliments on my cut and color. I think they have good prices and if you color your hair, they're faster than most other places & I think it turns out better than other salons I've been too. Just another place to consider. Good luck.

I have a friend who is a fabulous hairstylist. She is working from home right now as she has been staying home with her kids. Her youngest is in 1st grade, so she is working more now. She will take the time to really listen to what you want. She is a real perfectionist. She lives in Claremore, which is about 20-30 mins from Tulsa. Let me know if you are interested.

DG Salon is a wonderful place. Use either Julie or Denise as they will help you find a new look and be honest about what will look best with your face and style. The salon is located at 71st and Granite (between Yale and Sheridan). The number is ###-###-####. Good luck with wherever you chose. I hope you find the "new you" you want.

A great stylist is great to have!!!!!!!! I have never gone to "salons". I always just went to supercuts whenever I needed my hair trimmed. Now I have a girl who is GREAT!!!!! My husbands cousin also goes to her b/c she can't find anyone to cut curly hir like Joni does. She is located at Roary D's Hair Artistry, 501 W. 2nd St. in Sand Springs. Her cell # is ###-###-####. Tell I sent you or let me know and we can drive out together or I can meet you there! SHe gives THE MOST AWSOME neck rub for free with a hair wash and cut! She also does the color, perms, etc. if you are interested in those as well! I am 28 and also have 3 children and moved here with my husband (who grew up here) 7 years ago!

Whenever someone recommends a good salon here... I'll be able to use the information too! I had try Super Cuts at Memorial Dr. and a hair stylist one day can be good and another terrible! My hair is long, thick and wavy and most of the time I wear it straight, takes an hour to blow dry it the right way! I had better experience with male hair stylist.
There has to be someone here happy, happy with their hair cut!

Suzanne B, owner of Z Studio at 45ish and Peoria is who I would recommend. She is awesome and just gave me a whole new look.

The salon is very contemporary and she is not horribly expensive. My cut-style was $55....lots of compliments!

(I'm not sure of the exact address.)

Definately - Marilyn Ihloff Salon in Tulsa. They have two locations - Utica Square and 101st and Memorial, I think. They are an Aveda salon - you can get the best facial and massage plus get your hair and nails done. The stylists are fantastic!

Good luck!
