My girlfriends and I are walking the the Susan G. Komen 3day walk this year in the Twin Cities and in order to raise our $2,300/person we are hosting a volleyball tournament at a local bar where we live but i can't come up with a cute name! I don't want to use our team name (The Pink Pixies) because we each have our own team - Help!!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks so much for everyone’s responses keep them coming! If anyone has any suggestions on more fundraising ideas this volleyball event is just one fundraiser that we have planned to help us raise this HUGE sum of money. Thanks for the support as well as the great ideas. At first I hesitated in committing to such a Big Dollar amount but knowing that it's for such a great cause that has hit so many people it will be all worth it in the end. Thanks again!

I'm thinking volleyball lingo

The Jump Set - also refers to your uh hum, ...set

or bar lingo - you could do some pink drink as your name and all drink that all night - or ask the bartender to give a % of that drink order to the cause, something like

The pink fuzzy navels

I just saw a women's team in our local newspaper called "Victorious Secret". Not exactly related to breast cancer, but I thought it was cute and maybe you could incorporate it into the team name somehow. My sister is battling stage IV breast cancer. Thanks for helping a great cause!

Other fund raising ideas: talk to friends who sell pampered chef, avon, scentsy, etc. and host a "girls only" night and ask everyone to do something (pampered chef does food, avon does facials, etc.) and then any purchases the proceeds go to your team.
Coordinate a bowling event with different teams. Prizes can be certificates you print yourself and all proceeds go to your team.
Host a bingo night - little more complicated because you need to go under a gambling license, but can be done.
Talk to local grocery store about doing a brat/hot dog stand at their store one weekend - many have these already where they allow non-profits to run it and make the money.
Have a bake sale at your office on a busy day.
Host a lunch at work (spaghetti, baked potato bar, taco bar) and ask everyone to donate money.
Coordinate a golf tournament - takes a lot of time.
Host a Texas Hold 'Em tournament where everyone buys in for a certain dollar amount and winner gets $50.
Coordinate a wine tasting where you sell tickets for the event. Vendors may be willing to donate wine to increase sales, but need to go under somewhere with a liquor license.

Just a few ideas - message me if you have other questions. Good luck!
