I Need a Crib Solution!

I am having a hard time with my 16 month old and him getting his legs stuck in the crib. I did start off with the bumpers and then he just pushed them up. So now it is just the crib and him. Sometimes I hear him screaming because his leg is caught. Anyone have any ideas, he is a little too small for a bed but I hate to have him get hurt. This didn't happen with my other two so I am at a loss. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What can I do next?

I know what you mean...my 21 mo old daughter did the same thing and used to cry in pain every night. I took a couple of long, simi thick pillows and sewed ties on the corners and tied them to the rails on the outside of each side of the crib. It's done wonders! Try it. Oh, my hisband is underpaid as well,LOL!

I have never tried this but I read it on some advice on here :), Thank you to whoever wrote this before.....
This other mom got some mesh netting at the fabric store, I am guessing kinda something like the mesh that you make bird seed bags out of for a wedding - she tied this to the sides of the crib to keep her babies legs/arms from getting stuck in the slats. I only recall reading this because I would have LOVED to have heard of this when my kids were all in cribs and I was losing sleep over stuck limbs. Hopefully what every mom wrote this the first time will respond with better directions :) Good luck.

This is a mesh bumper that will stay in place. It even says; "The breathable, patented mesh improves air flow while keeping small hands and feet inside the crib." SOunds like it might be a good solution for you. This is at Babysrus, by the way:

Try a crib tent. I used it for my kids to keep them in the bed-- but it is mesh all the way up the sides so it would be really difficult (if not impossible)for your son to get in there and get stuck.

Hi
Did you try weaving the bumpers in and out of the rails?
Good luck

Hi K. I had the same problem 24 years ago with my first
child ( a son ) I took the crib apart, and I placed the crib mattres on the floor lines all his stuffed animals around the mattress, and thats how he slept until going into a twin bed. J.

Just an idea ... I know you said he is too young for a bed, but I moved my daughter at 18 months. We bought a daybed - with 3 sides, then the rail that attaches under the mattress for the 4th side. She loves it and it took her several months before she attempted to get out of it. :)
