I Know It Sounds Crazy, but I Think I Might Be 7 Months Pregnant. I Need Advice

Several months ago, I thought I was pregnant. I took a couple of pregnancy tests, got negatives, and shrugged it off.

Fast forward to now. I have back pain, I have suddenly gained a lot of weight in my abdomen, when usually I gain in my butt, and I’m experiencing what I can only describe as persistant fetal wiggling, but stiIl negative on the home pregnancy test. I have one child so I know the distinctive fetal movement feeling, and it’s responsive to sound.

I know I’d be laughed out of a doctor’s office but I’m really starting to freak out.

What do you think?

Edited to add: I have not had periods in several years, because I have an iud,

What can I do next?

oh my word. School is out and the trolls are alive and kicking.

If you FEEL like you're pregnant? You need to go to the doctor. NOW. Why on EARTH would you trust a group of people over the internet who do NOT know you, can't evaluate you or even run any tests on you?

If you're not pregnant, something is still wrong.
If you are pregnant, you're high risk because you have an IUD in place.

Get to an Ob/Gyn immediately.

Welcome to Mamapedia, A..

Now tell us why you haven't gone to a doctor? Because you feel you'd be laughed out? Um. No. Poor excuse.

Hpt's only work in the first 3 months - so instead of feeling like you are going to be laughed out - make an appointment and go into your doctor. Your OB/GYN - MAYBE if you're NOT pregnant? You have an infection from the IUD? You won't know until you see the doctor.

If you have a child, you know that someone is depending on you to take care of yourself. That means being in good health so you can make good medical and emotional decisions for him or her. That doesn't mean ignoring symptoms that are troublesome, pregnant or not. And how would you know you're "7 months pregnant" anyway? For how long have you been taking pregnancy tests with negative results?

If you're pregnant and you have an IUD in place, you need to be seen immediately. If you're not pregnant and you have unexplained weight gain and feel some movement which is (miraculously) "responsive to sound," you need to be seen immediately. If you are in denial, you need to be seen immediately. If you think you stay away from a doctor because they might laugh at you, you need to be seen immediately.

When I was a women's health educator, I saw a young woman complaining of gas pains. She was in labor. Don't be that woman.

Call your doctor, or go to an Urgent Care walk-in center and say, "I have an IUD, no periods, negative pregnancy tests, unexplained weight gain, and something's going on in my abdomen." Very simple.

You will not be laughed out of a doctor's office. You need to call your OB TODAY!

Recently a friend of mine went to the ER with abdominal pain. Her husband posted a couple of hours later that she was about to have a c-section. This type of thing happens. Call your OB right away!

Are you serious?
Why did you not go to the Dr when you suspected but test were negative. Al you have to do is get a blood test to confirm and you know for sure.

At this point, if you are pregnant you have gone a long time with no prenatal care and it is vital that you get to a Dr for care. You could have something else wrong.

Stay away from Dr. Google and go take care of yourself.

A Dr. won't laugh at you but could very well be concerned about your stability if you have let this go for 7 months. Are you just waiting to see if a baby pops out?

GO to the Dr.

I've never been in your shoes so can't tell you whether I think you are pregnant or not. Generally, if you are not getting your cycle any more - that's a good enough reason to go in and get tested (I think) no matter what the home tests say. Who cares? They've seen it all.

I don't understand. You've had pregnancy tests taken and you have had negatives? You are having all these symptoms, and you're worried about being 7 months pregnant? I'd be worried that I had CANCER.

Go to the doctor and find out what on earth is growing in your innards.

I suggest that having an IUD means you definately need to see a doctor. My daughter thought she was pregnant. Her exam showed that the IUD was not in place and she had a tubal pregnancy. One concern was that if the IUD had migrated and she was pregnant she and the baby could be harmed. The ultrasound did not find the IUD. The ultrasound found the tubal pregnancy. This is just one example of what can go wrong.

I have read that a women felt prenatal movement and was not pregnant. I don't remember the cause. I doubt the doctor laughed at her.

I think you need to get off the internet and go see a doctor to find out if you will have a baby in about 2 months time or have cancer/huge tumor/massive fibroid/hysterical pregnancy/what ever.
If you think a doctors office will laugh at you - you either have some really bad doctors, or have really bad judgement for thinking a doctor would do that.

So you are afraid you will be laughed out of the doctor's office? How old are you? This is probably is silliest thing I have ever read. If you think there is something growing inside you, responding to sound and are freaking out, the only remedy is the DOCTOR. Go Now.
