I Have No Hot Water :(

I live in an apt and everything is electric. My family and I Have been noticing issues with hot water so I immediately told maintenance and management. Maintenance said the parts won't be in until beginning of next week. Fine. Nothing I can do about it seeing as I don't know how to fix it and neither am I allowed to per the rental agreement.

Today my husband got home from work and got in the shower only to discover we had NO hot water at all so he took a cold shower. I go back to management to complain. The maintenance guy who I discussed things with yesterday says oh yeah I forgot to flip the breaker back on. *DOH* Now I can easily do that myself because well I'm not an idiot but I was told I had to wait until he got there to do it. Mind you I've got laundry, dishes, mopping and the like to do. Maintenance finally shows up a half hour later and walla flips the breaker. Now of course I still don't have hot water because it's going to take some time for the water to become hot.

BOOOOOOO! :'(

Have any of you gone through this before and if so what did you do about it?

What can I do next?

I grew up with well water.
At times we would just...RUN OUT of water.
You haven't woken up properly until the water quits while your hair is full of shampoo and you have to ri se with a gallon of Polar water--straight from the fridge! Now THAT will wake you right up.
It was only a few hours...relax.

(And no way would I have waited for someone to come & flip a breaker!)

For dishes and mopping you can boil water on the stove to use. For laundry--most things can be washed in cold water.

If I am reading correctly, it sounds as though it only took maintenance 30 minutes to get there. If it was me, I wouldn't have bothered worrying about it. I can call for a repair, and a maintenance man will some by in 4 days. We had the hot water go out out when we got back from a vacation (which is considered emergency- same day service) and it took a few hours. We are only guaranteed that in case of a maintenance emergency, it will take less than 24 hours to come.

Lol...

I took showers at the gym (my son, too... Did a lot if swimming at the Y when close to bedtime, in the morning before school, we'd just use the showers themselves).

Washed my clothes at the laundromat

Bought 15 gallons of water (and refilled them up at the church with their okay) and
- filled the toilet tank by hand to flush.
- used the tea kettle to boil water for dishes (also face washing, etc. just add enough cold to not scald).

When I had no running water for 2 months.

We broke out our sun shower for camping, heated water on the stove, poured it in the shower bag, hung it in the shower and showered!

We often go to a friends cottage where they have no running water. We go outside to the well and pump water, then we bring it inside and heat it on the stove for washing. We have baths instead of showers.
