When I do the chinese gender prediction test it says girl , but I just feel like I'm having a boy. This is my first child , my fiance has 3 girls his self , but on my side of the family boys run in the family. So what do i go by , should I believe that he only produces girls , or maybe we will get lucky that it's a boy ? Please give me some feedback.

What can I do next?

You go by what comes out! Haha, just joking with you! I know waiting is hard, but it's the only 100% foolproof method for finding out!

Have to laugh at the Chinese gender prediction, though...just the other day, I looked for fun, and according to the Chinese gender prediction, all three of my boys were supposed to have been girls and my one girl should be a boy, lol! So then, I started looking up others whose info I knew....the Chinese gender predictor was 100% wrong on every single one! So, going from that, I'd say you definitely ARE having a boy ;-)

I think you should go by what the 20 week ultrasound says...

If you want to guess (and gender predictors of any kind are just guesses), I'd go with what your husband already has, a girl. The male decides the gender. My husband only has a brother. We also have 2 sons. His brother has 2 sons. We joke that they can't make girls, but with the birth of our second son a few months ago I'm not sure it's a joke anymore! Everything is 50/50, which means they are right enough time for people to actually believe in them.

50/50 chance, regardless - every single time.

It's a roll of the dice, or rather, a flip of a coin. Past patterns don't predict these things.

My real, important advice to you is: There's nothing "luckier" about having a boy than having a girl. Having a baby is a miracle and a cause for a huge celebration. Your first and most important job as a mom is to love whatever baby you have. Who cares if it's a boy or a girl? It is what it is, and you'll find out soon enough. Just feel happy and lucky to be having a baby. The rest will take care of itself.

The only thing that's certain is - it's a baby!
Don't set yourself up for disappointment - be happy with what ever you get.
If your babys father has all girls so far, his track record to date indicates another girl.
Girls are just as lucky as boys.

With my two, I chose to make it a surprise both times. Both times I guessed and was SURE my "mother's intuition" told me that I was having a boy/girl.
Both times I was wrong!! It actually took me a day or so the first time to adjust to the fact that I had not had a boy! The second time I was more relaxed.

Focus on taking care of yourself and having a healthy baby. That's all that really counts.

I recommend keeping it a surprise. There are no other surprises in adult life like this. It will really help you to feel the mystery and miraculousness of the whole experience.

When I was carrying my first child she carried 'like a girl' according to everyone. Turned out it was a girl. Second child carried like a boy according to those in the know. Nope another girl. Goes to show that you can predict anything but the sex is determined at conception so you've got a 50/50 chance of your prediction being correct.

edited to add that you'll be lucky to have a happy healthy baby. Boys aren't better then girls.

Ha ha. When I was pregnant with my first, everyone told me that his family produces boys, and if you try for a girl you get twin boys. (There are 3 girls among his cousins and two are adopted.) Surprise, surprise it was a girl. Second was a boy. It's a 50/50 shot and short of getting a confirmation on the ultrasound (and with our boy, it took 3 before they could tell for sure it was a boy, he kept his umbilical cord between hies legs so it was hard to tell) there's no way to know.

At 20 weeks, you might get an untrasound, that can tell (if said child is cooperating) if not, you will know when s/he is born.

The Chinesse charte was 50/50 for me. :)

Congratulations! Hopeing for a healthy child.

You have a 50/50 chance of being right, no matter what gender prediction method you use. ;-)

It doesn't matter what your side of the family produces in terms of gender because that is determined by the father. If your fiance has 3 daughters and no sons, smart money would bet on another girl. A son is entirely possible, it is just lower odds.

My husband is an only child. We have two sons. His father has a brother, no sisters. His uncle has two sons. There have been no girls born into my husband's side of the family for the past four generations.

Sounds like you really want a boy but I would consider myself lucky regardless of whether it is a boy or girl. I LOVE my girls too!!!

Well, I doubt that much of anything is a perfect, except an amniocentesis!

One of my daughter's friends was told she was having a girl..... (based on ultrasound, most likely?) ... they prepped and bought stuff for a girl, and decorated the nursery for that. Guess what? Yep, she had a boy!

Long ago, a friend in another state (as the story goes... I didn't know her then) was pregnant... and since their first child was born with genetic abnormalities, they had genetic testing done... and were told it was a girl....

Oops... they had a boy! However, many years later, they apparently had access to the original testing results, and it DID show it was a boy... the tech just wrote the wrong information down in the records!

So... basically, you get what you get......

Well, everyone thought for sure I was having a boy based on all the old-wives tales, but I had a girl.

I looked up he Chinese calculator after the fact, and it was correct for me. Several months ago (it may have been last year) I posted a JFF question with the calendar to see how accurate it was for mothers on this site, and it was a little less than 1/2 accurate.
