I have a beautiful energetic 16 month old daughter and she needs an activity to be in. Can someone suggest a class for 16 month olds that are not too expensive? I looked into the YMCA at eastlake and that is exactly where she might go but they are really expensive... Help

What can I do next?

Since you are probably in the general area (if you're looking at Eastlake Y), you may also want to check out The Music Class at Glenwood Park -and there's also a Decatur "Music Together" -just google it -that may be closer to you. My boy and I have done both of them, and they're lots of fun. We also love the Eastlake Y for the offerings for kids and the gym. It's not bad if you're actually going to work out there, but if you're only going to join for the toddlersize, etc. then it is expensive. I've heard Little Gym classes are great, but there are none close to me in Grant Park. I think the closest is in Buckhead -and there is also Gymboree (which I found to be a bit expensive) at Toco Hills on N. Druid Hills. Do you ever take her to The Jumping Bean in Amsterdam Walk near Midtown? IT's right off Monroe Drive. My little boy has LOVED it since he was about a year old. It's great and uncrowded -and usually no big kids if you go anytime between 10AM and 2PM during the week. It's only $5 -make sure you take socks.

We did The Music Class. We especially love Berne'! She is wonderful. There is one on Glenwood on the east side of Grant Park. Joining a playgroup, they have some on Yahoo Meet up, and Yahoo Groups, can be really supportive.
We also did a baby yoga class before Sasha turned 1.5, I believe:

Try www.themusicclass.com and your local library to see what may be going on. I do not know anything about the East Lake area but it's a start. Good luck to you.

I had my daughter in the Baby Power class at that age. I found the prices very reasonable for all that you get. She really enjoyed the variety of the class. They do music, gym time, and arts and crafts...location is in Stockbridge, GA.

Check out http://www.momsclub.org. It's not a mommy and me class, it's a club for stay at home moms where they do activities with the kids together during the day. A lot cheaper than a class. Only $20 a year. Also look into MOPS http://www.mops.org/.

So I guess, Gymbroee or Little Gym would be too expensive because those are the 2 other places I was thinking that they have classes for that age group and older as well.
Have you checked out the free storytimes at the library? Good Luck!
