Your choices are to get an abortion, adoption, or raise the baby yourself. You haven't indicated what you want to do, so here are some resources:

A good place to start:
Planned Parenthood in Plano
http://www.plannedparenthood.org/health-center/texas/plan...
###-###-####

If you are considering adoption or raising the child yourself:
Catholic Charities of Dallas
http://www.catholiccharitiesdallas.org/pregnancy-and-adop...
1-800-222-9383 (1-800-BABY-DUE)

Both of the above places will help you understand options for health care costs.

ETA: Although abortion is legal in Texas, political issues have made it available in only a few places in the DFW area. One clinic in Dallas is Southwestern Women's:
http://www.southwesternwomens.com/
###-###-####

ETA: regarding the ignorance in the answers deriding this woman because she is an immigrant: She mentioned a sponsor. For those of you who didn't get that, that means she has obtained lawful employment and is being sponsored for citizenship by her employer. She likely is worried they will terminate her employment if they find out she is pregnant. Happens all the time. Maybe offering resources rather than ill-informed 'advice' l would help.

I don't know how old you are but you have options.

1. End your time period over here with your sponsor and go home to your country to have your baby. I am sure your country has programs in place for someone like you.

2. If you choose to stay here in the US (I also live in Allen), work out a cash payment plan with your Dr. and hospital.

3. Talk to Planned Parenthood and consider adoption if you choose to carry this baby to term.

4. You might want to re-phrase your question because I pick up that you are soliciting for money for yourself and that is against the terms of service on this site.

5. You created this and you have to figure out the most responsible way to get through it.

I hope this isn't a real question... Not right to be here not even as a citizen and now put the burden of your child on US taxpayers. It's not right when US citizens do it either. I would say return to your home country and family or do not have the baby.

People...if she has a sponsor then she has legally entered the country either via employment or family based immigration (I am guessing family based). She also indicates that she has lawful permanent residency (aka green card status) or that such is pending.

As a LPR or pending LPR you can obtain insurance through the healthcare exchange and you maybe eligible for assistance. Yes, it might affect your sponsor but he or she agreed to support you financially when he/she signed the I-684 Affidavit of Support form.

You don't actually need health insurance to have a baby. Doctors will still happily take cash or credit cards, no worries.

Congratulations!

I would recommend looking around for a free/low cost clinic or a planned parenthood. I know when you think of planned parenthood you think abortion, but they also have prenatal care. You should also look into getting insurance. I agree with other posters to call the healthcare.gov customer service. Good luck, both with your pregnancy and your journey to becoming an American citizen.

Heathcare.gov
Go to the site, but call the number, don't try to sign up online. The website is glitchy. You can purchase low-cost insurance, depending on your income, there or through your State's exchange. The customer service people will help you to figure it out.

I was brought up to believe every baby is a blessing. If you have a sponsor, you are gaining citizenship legally, so ignore these women telling you to "go home". This is now your home, and I welcome you. Obamacare has insurance available to everyone now, regardless of employment status, you have every right to take advantage of it.

I have read some of the answers you have received and I have a few of my own.

Who is the sponsor? Is it employment based or family/friend based? That makes a difference in sponsor. If it is employment based, that means you are employed and thus should have insurance available to you or the ability to go onto the Exchange. If it is family/friend based, do you have authorization to work in the United States? If not, you are in fact very limited.

Just because someone signed the I-684 Affidavit of Support form doesn't mean they signed on to support her AND a child.

The father should be helping with the cost of the child/bills.

I would contact my immigration attorney and Planned Parenthood. I think those would be the first couple of calls I made.

Hopefully you can buy health insurance now that we don't have the "pre-existing condition" problem we had when I was pregnant. We moved to an area with cheap deliveries (all hospitals are different) and paid off the pregnancies over the span of a few years. Molly O has the best advice.

I don't think your sponsor can fire you for being pregnant if it's your boss...but I don't know full story, you may have to consider going back home for the birth of your child and moving later.

Sorry for some hateful people on here who don't know you or your whole story. Good luck!

how long have you been in the states? Depending on your exact status, you may qualified for medicaid. Otherwise, I do believe you can buy insurance on the new insurance exchanges. One last option is paying cash. I paid cash for two of my three pregnancies, it was cheaper than using my insurance out of network.

Please call the local hospitals and find out if they have any low income clinics. Ours has one and they do fund raisers and get donations from people that want to help those that fall through the cracks.

There are also some low income clinics in lots of smaller suburbs of big cities. You just need to go to your state welfare office and ask them what resources they know of that you can access.

And for millions of years woman got pregnant, worked in the fields every day in all seasons, squatted down and pushed out their baby when it was time, then got up and went back to work.

Having a baby isn't hard, we've made it a lot safer and healthier for the baby nowadays. But having health care for yourself to prevent possible things from happening it's better.

Our hospital has a foundation that offers financial assistance in some cases. I do not know how much they can help or what the criteria is, but you could ask. Just call the local hospitals and ask for "patient accounts" or "financial services." Briefly explain your situation and ask them what resources are available to you.

You could probably do the same thing for an OB. I would think many have the resources to work with patients on a limited budget.

Welcome to mamapedia!!

Are you going to get married? Or are you doing this on your own?? What is the father of the baby doing? He has a financial responsibility as well.

Either way you do NOT need insurance to have a baby...contact your doctor and negotiate a price with them for pre-natal care and delivery.

Then talk with the doctor about the hospital and contact the billing department for the hospital and arrange/negotiate a price and start paying it now...

Hospitals will take payments. I had insurance and still had to pay over $5000 out of pocket for each of my two oldest. It took years to pay the $10000 but we did it. Also, at that time we were not financially well off.

I would like to be happy for you but I find I have kind of a little anger in me. In reverse, my husband came from another country and we did everything that was supposed to be right. I went through all the paperwork, paid the correct amount of money, went to all of the procedures, watched him work his brains out to work English, got his GED in English, we waited the proper amount of time, got legally married, lived together, loved together and we waited for a baby. We could not have a baby for some reason. He helped me raise mine from a previous marriage but we never had any. Now I see so many people who just get pregnant without benefit of papers, insurance, family, etc. and I wonder if I am upset because I couldn't have any more children with the man I love. But when there were pockets of time where I didn't have insurance I made sure I had other options. The information is at hospitals and churches and probably your 'sponsor' knows how to find out this information even if you don't want it to affect him/her/them. You also had someone get you pregnant somewhere, I have a hunch it's not the sponsor and I'm thinking you should track that person down and get them to open up their pockets to help you. But I am saying one thing, I am glad to see you are learning English, as there are far too many people who refuse to even try.Good luck to you.Sorry I'm not more helpful.
