My family just got here in August and I am a stay at home mother and have had a hard time meeting other mom's and people in general. Are there any playgroups or anything like that?

What can I do next?

Hi J.. My name is N. and my husband works at Mildenhall too. We live out in Soham. I am 26 and have a 7 year old daughter and a 15m old son. We are due to leave in August but we can get together anytime. I don't work...well actually I am a domestic technician too...a MOM. Don't feel obligated to write or meet. Just thought I would say hi.

J.,

There is Liberty Tots (at the Youth Center on Lakenheath, Tues and Fridays from 10-1130). And there is also MOPS (1st and 3rd Thursdays I believe, on Feltwell).

I know what it's like when you first arrive here and it can be tough meeting people if you don't know where they're meeting up. I posted a few days ago about an online playdate group for our area, but here is the link again: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/playdates-RAFL-RAFM/

It's a good way to meet up with several local moms, all with kids around your son's age.

J.,
I have talked to a couple of other girls that recently moved here as well. I have been here about 1 1/2 years and live in the Thetford military development. Maybe we can all get together for a playdate one day. As for playgroups, there is MOPS and MAG groups who both have a weekly playgroup. Let me know if you have any other questions and I will try to answer them. Take care.

Hi I'm Søs,
We are also stationed at Mildenhall but live in Littleport. We have been here since Jul 06, but are planning to extend if they'll let us. I have a 25 month old and a 4 month old. There are many groups in littleport that I know of also my daugther Emily is always up for playing.
Let me know what kind of info you would like and if you would like to get together.

Hi J.
Congratulations on your baby due in July! Life with a 2 year old and not being able to play outside can be rough. I have a 2 year old daughter (just turned in Dec) and a 6 month old daughter. We try to get over to the Bob Hope center, but it can be difficult to get out of the house sometimes. :) We go to MOPS. It is the 1st and 3rd thursday of each month, Feb it is moving back to the Mildenhall chapel. Hope to see you there.

RAF Mildenhall has a MOPS group that meets at the base chapel on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month from 10:00 to 11:30. The next one is Feb. 7th.

RAF Lakenheath has a playgroup every Tuesday and Friday at 10:00 to 11:30 in the Youth Center Gym with toys and mats available. They start cleaning up around 11:15 so get there at 10:00 to visit and play.

RAF Lakenheath Services offers a Moms and Tots Morning Movies every Monday at 10 a.m. at the 48th Avenue Community Center located across from the bowling alley. The event is feww for moms and toddlers. Moms are required to remain with their children.

You might call RAF Mildenhall Youth Center to see if they have a playgroup like RAF Lakenheath.

Hope this helps. My kids are 10 to 18 years old.

Hi J.,

I have a almost 3 yr old son.
There is MOPS (Mothers of Pre Schoolers) on the first and third Thursdays of the month at the newly renovated Mildenhall Chapel, the meetings start at 10am. There is also a play group on Lakenheath called Liberty Tots, we do not attend that, but have heard positive feedback about it. Hope this helps out.
