I just bought some of these and was curious if any of you have used them. From what I understand from the instructions my son needs to take 2-3 tablets 4 times per day. If you have used these please let me know what dosage you used and if they worked or not. Thanks!!

I noticed your son is only 4- a large number of boys don't stop having night time accidents until age 5. especially if they are sound sleepers. buy some night time pull ups and dont pressure him to much he will naturally stop wetting bed when he is ready.- lessen fluids close to bed time and make sure he goes potty right before he gets into bed. give him stickers on a chart every morning he wakes up with out going potty in the bed. wiat to do this until he is at least 4 1/2. some boys are just not physcially mature enough to hold it that long- Good luck- AJ

I have not tried them, but I agree with the night time pull ups or Good Nights (Kroger has a GREAT generic). My son is 5 1/2 and still has occasional night time accidents--he is a very heavy sleeper and his pediatrician is not worried in the least about it. Another friend's son was in the night time underwear until 7 and her pediatrician was not concerned.

Hi, I have a 6 year old daughter who still wears pull ups at night. She is a very heavy sleeper and is wet most every night. I have not sought out any medical advise recently since last time I asked the doctor he said not to worry about it. My mom told me that my sister wet the bed till she was 10. I don't want to make a big deal out of it but would love to move past this issue. I have not heard of these tablets but would like to know what results you have with them. Please let me know if you try them.

I just wanted to put in a good word for homeopathic remedies. The Hylands remedy you are talking about would not hurt to try. Homeopathic medicines do not have harmful side effects, as do herbs and prescriptions. I have not used the one you are talking about in particular, but Hylands produces a whole line of remedies. I use the teething tabs, Cold Plus C tabs, and other homeopathics by boiron for us and our children. They are a great thing to try since they are a gentle medicine. Prescription drugs for what you are dealing with can cause bell's palsy (our nine year old had bladder problems when she was younger and we refused these medicines) and other side effects. As far as the dosing for Hyland's what the bottle says is fine. When our one year old daughter needs the teething tabs we follow the bottles instuctions which say every 15 minutes for 4 doses and it does the trick. I love the stuff!

My son is 4 1/2 and still cannot stay dry at night. He wants to and he has tried, but he just cannot do it. My best friend's sister is a developmental pediatrician, so I asked her about it. She told me that the muscle at the bottom of the bladder that closes off the urethra is one of the last things to develop completely. She told me that developmentally, I should not be concerned. This issue seems to occur more often in boys. She told me that it is very rare that the problem occur past 6 years of age. If it's still a problem then, we'll check it out. In the meantime, don't make a big deal out of it. Just use nighttime pull-ups. All that being said, I am very big on homeopathy. I completely avoid traditional prescription drugs unless it is an emergency situation. Please keep us posted on your results after trying the homeopathic pellets. If you get good results, I will use them too!

I am a mother of three girls, 10, 7 and 3. My 10 and 7 yr old have ALWAYS wet the bed pretty much every night. With my middle child she had immature valves that they say will mature and one already has. However we put her through some horrible testing and finally stopped because it was an awful route to go but when your Urologist is telling you this you tend to listen. We stopped due to her having t get an IV every time (which was awful because it always took 30 minutes to get one strated on her) and due to all the radiation they put her thourgh started to concern me a bunch. She is still dealing with this and it did get better this past year but has recently started being an every night thing again. My 10 yr old we tried DDAVP and it worked but I hate the idea of my child being on any medication for a long period so I stopped that. We do have some demopression pills that she started taking a couple of days if she knew she would be attending a sleep over and they always worked. We also did the bed wetting alarm that seemed to awake everyone in the house but her so that was a nightmare for the whole family, a hundred dollar waste for us!! We tried some natural bed wetting tablets but I never saw a difference in the amount of times they wet a week, not saying that you won't though! Now I am very glad to say that she has not wet the bed since September!!!!!!!! Now my 3 yr old had NEVER wet the bed until a month ago and has had about three accidents now!! I only thought we were good to go with her!! I do know that all the doctors have different opions but there is some great reading material on the web. I also know that most doctors we saw said not to use pull ups because they need to feel the wetness and wake up, change sheets and take a shower to help train the brain.....mine always sleep way to hard to even know they wet the bed until the morning. We do not use pull ups because it is a very big downer for the self essteem for my kids....I guess they are all different though. Our new urologists always has said that they will grow out of it normally by the time they are 10 and not to worry with it to much unless there is day time wetting too. Also, he STRONGLY suggested the alarm system that didn't work for us but you might think about that if it continues past 5 years old.

KC: I never used them on my kids because I didn't know about them at the time but about 6 yrs. ago my dog's started leaking. (rat terrier - 12 #- 15 yrs.) It was awful and leaving large spots of urine wherever she slept. I went to my health food store and they suggested Hyland's bed wetting tablets and had used them for their dog. I tried it and it was almost immediate. I used them for several years. I tried to quit a couple of times or would run out and in a day or two she would start leaking again. I continued for another 2 yrs. and then just a few months ago I quit again and voila! she does not leak any more. I have sense began working part time at the health food store and I used a lot of homeopathic products with great results. They are a great, harmless way to treat allergies, and a safe way to treat many other situations as well. I would highly recommend always starting with homeopathic products. Kids respond very well to this type of treatment.

I know nothing about the bedwetting tablets you are referring to, but I do know there is a psychoactive medication available by subscription. I urge you to discuss the tablets with your doctor. Bedwetting is most often a sleep disorder rather than something to do with the urinary tract or "emotions." My daughter took the medication and it was very effective. They say kids will outgrow bedwetting but sometimes is just replaced with sleepwalking, sleeptalking, etc. Those things make for funny family stories in the later years, but living through them is pretty distressing.

About me: I am a 70 year old grandmother of two fabulous youngsters. The darling mother of my darling granddaughter signed me up for Mamasource. Who knew?

My son suffered from bed wetting for many years.
The only things that helped were not having milk after 5pm, and DDAVP. He finally outgrew it around age 15.

I too have a child with occasional bedwetting. I was given advice by their schoolteacher that also had a child that wet the bed. She told us no milk after lunchtime, due to something in milk that can increase bedwetting. By gosh it has worked for us!

I would be very careful with those tablets. What do they have in them that makes them not wet? Are they dehydrating the kids??? I agree with the other moms, just put a pull up on him. My son wet the bed EVERY night until he was 7, then stopped one night out of the blue. He wore pull ups every night, we just called them his night night undies.

Hi KC,

I have been dealing with bedwetting for about 10 years now with two of my girls. My youngest has had no problem at all. She sleeps through the night with no accidents. My 10 year old has had the toughest time of it. She wouldn't want to sleep over at peoples homes, but be embarrased. I asked my pediatrician and she kept giving me pamphlets on the bedwetting store and those things. I ended up changing physicians and she put my girls (10 and 7) on Desmopresin. It is a nasal spray that is used before bed and keeps them from wetting. It has literally been life changing for us. i use to have them wear pull ups and even then we would have leaks. I don't know anything about the tablets your talking about but i know this other stuff works well. It is however expensive. I am just glad it makes my big girls feel like they are normal.
