So my husband is graduating college, finally. It's been a very long road to get him to where he is and I want to celebrate it. I want to make my kids some shirts about daddy graduating. Does anyone have a cute sayings I could put on the shirts?

What can I do next?

Are you sure that is what he wants. When I graduated I didn't want my kids doing anything but eating a fancy meal with me. Sure I was running around with a pencil casting spells on people but more than anything I wanted it to be a mature moment. Kids with sayings on their shirts would not have fit in.

Oh, if you don't get the spell reference, the only thing that makes you look more like a Hogwarts cast out than the master's robes are that of the PHD! Strangely most of the professors claimed to be Slytherin. :p

When my Husband graduated... well at least here in my State, what is really big for graduates and de rigueur for grads is:
the families or friends, make HUGE personalized banners... which they can and are allowed to display... when the graduates are filing out and into the main receiving area. And also balloons!
Some of the banners even have the graduate's photo on it. And then huge helium balloons floating in the air. This is a big thing to do here in my State. Oh, and we give leis... to the graduates. Flower leis and money leis. This is tradition.

Or, VistaPrint, www.vistaprint.com has t-shirts that you can put photos on or personalize. I have done that before, as gifts.
And on it you can put the saying you want on it.

What about:
"You Grad, what a Dad!"

And go out for dinner.
Or see what he wants to do.

So the shirts you want to make for your kids for your Husband's graduation: is this for them to wear.... to the graduation???Or is it to be his "gift" for graduation?

I finished my MBA this past fall. It was a HUGE challenge for my whole family, especially since I doubled up the last year to get it over with. My present? Surgery. I have been wanting it for several years to get healthy, and their support through the process was my gift. It's what I wanted (and needed).

My parents got me a really good DSLR camera as well.

I don't know if we went out to dinner to celebrate or anything, but we were going out too often then as it was.

Ask him what he wants. My want was not the typical graduation gift...but it's what I really wanted.
