When do you join a Mom's Club: before the birth or after? How do I go about getting involved or starting one?

What can I do next?

Hi D.! I'm a member of Mom's Club Huntington Beach chapter. They set up playgroups based on your childs age. It's nice because the infant group has moms going through the same things. And as the get older together, they play together in age-appropriate groups.

I'd suggest looking into a group while you are pregnant. Sometimes it can take awhile for agroup to firm up. Dont' be discouraged. The groups grow and fill up fast but as new one always starts up.

You can check out:

or another good area to search is: http://www.meetup.com/

Good luck!!

I've been successful in Long Beach at starting two different Mom's groups by taking classes through the Parks & Rec department. My groups started when my children were around 3 months old. In both cases, I was able to form a group with moms in almost the same situation as me (children same age, similar family make-up, etc.). We were a huge support to each other, which was very important during the first 2 years. Plus, our group became very intimate and the bonding we've had can never be duplicated. Our kids are now in school, but we all still keep in touch and are considering a reunion. You might have the same success by taking pregnancy related classes.

I second the Internations MOMS club...I recently moved to HB, but have been a member at the Newport Beach club. You can start as soon as you feel good about having your newborn out around other children. It's a great group of women!

Hi D.!

The International Mom's Club is an organization here in HB. There are chapters depending on where you live. http://www.momsclub.org/join.html
Look at this website to find a chapter near you. I am a member of HB South. You can join at any time, but most of the activities involve our little ones. You'll probably get more involved as your baby gets older.
Are you looking for support or friendship during your pregnancy? I live here and would love to talk with you.
I have a 2 year old son and am (fingers crossed) working on

D.,
I also belong to the International Moms Club HB South Chapter and have truely been blessed meeting some wonderful moms/friends. I joined when my daughter was 4 1/2 months, but we do have a group for the little ones. It's great to get advice and adult conversation during those first few months. Please feel free to contact me if you would like more information and I could even set up sometime when you could come out and meet our moms to get a feel for the club.
Take Care & best of luck.

D.,
You can start pre-birth and build a connection. Depending on where you live, there are plenty of choices for a moms club or social group. If you are in the Long Beach area I know some great choices depending on your needs.
