Hello Ladies,

I was wondering about humidifiers for my soon to be 9mo daughter. I bought the Vicks Cool Mist Humidifier but needless to say, it leaked 3 times. I thought that I was doing something wrong so that's why I tried it 3 times. It took 6 soaked towels and my tile peeling off of the floor to realize, it wasn't me...it was the product!;-/ Anyway, what do you ladies recommend? I have asked the doctors on base but I have just gotten the response of, "Just get a regular humidifier", which means to me, they haven't had any experience as far as buying one, to recommend the best one. Thanks in advance ladies and Happy Holidays!

What can I do next?

have you thought about a filterless air purifier? I'm a consultant for indoor air quality and work with a remarkable technology company. Our most popular product is the air purifier, but we also do have a mister. You can get more inof at www.freshairliving.com/ecoq3135 the required passcode is guest.
Good luck to you

Something I've discovered with the cool-mist Humidifiers:
**don't over-tighten the "cover"...it's more prone to leakage that way.

Yes, I've still had some that leaked, but that was one of the big issues I had anyway.

There's one that Sunbeam makes and there's a "generic" type sometimes of it at Walgreens - it has a blue nightlight that shines up through the tank. We have one in my daughters room and one in ours. Our daughters really like it and it's sort of "dual purpose" in that you don't need an additional night light.

We have had the same issue with leakage with it on occasion, and it was usually me over-tightening the lid to the tank.

For what it's worth, and good luck!

We went through 3 humidifiers before getting the Sesame Street humidifier. I think it's made by Kaz. You can get it at Walmart. It has the tank on top and has Elmo and Zoe on it in diving gear. I love it. It's super easy to clean. I get the filters through Amazon.com and Target carries filters that will fit. It looks like a toy, so my son keeps wanting to play with it. We usually keep the door to his room shut during the day, so it's not a problem since I am usually in the room with him and tell him not to touch it.
