Hubby Lost My Daughters Glasses

Well I really am trying not to be upset with my hubby but I'm at a loss of what to do. He took the kids swimming Thursday while I was at school, he did not pick her glasses back up, just left them there. He did not even realize they were gone until I'm telling my daughter to go find her glasses. They were closed on the 4th ofcourse but I called them and will also go looking myself tomorrow. No such luck so far.
Now my daughter is extremely near sited and has to have transition lenses so the sun does not burn her eyes.. her lenses along are over $400.00. Plus my son needs new lenses but ofcourse she has to be at the top of the list.

Does anyone have any idea's? I'm just at a loss of what to do. There is no way we can come up with that kind of money anytime soon. I know there probably isn't anything but figured why not ask and see if you guys had any suggestions.

Thanks,
R.

So What Happened?

Thank you so much for your responses. I'll still keep checking with the YMCA to see if the glasses turns up. After I stopped spazzing so much I remembered she had another set of frames for when she first started wearing glasses. They are not the right perscription but she can at least see better without anything. I've checked with the doc and he's readjusted them and said to just get the new one's as soon as we can. She is scheduled in November for another apppointment anyhow so we may have to get another perscription then also so I may just save up and wait for then if she is doing ok.

Thanks again everyone!

R.

If I were you I would be extremely upset with my husband. If he is resposible enough to take the kids swimming while you are out he should be more than capable of remembering something as important as your daughters glasses. Didn't he notice that she wasn't wearing them in the ride home from the pool?

Good luck with finding your daughters glasses.

I would keep calling. Are you guys military? If you are, go to NAVY relief, they may be able to help. Ask for a grant not a loan.

Hi R.... may I be nosy and ask what is WSOL? I'd love to bring in a bit of money while I'm at home with the kids. As far as your situation... don't stress too much-- yes it is a pain-- but stressing won't help. Your hubby didn't mean to leave the glasses there either so don't beat him up too much!! They just can't help it.. being screwups.. you know.. :) no Im playing. Hopefully, the pool will have found the glasses and your issue will be resolved. If not, start to save and try to develop a full proof way for her not to lose them.. like let them stay around her neck or a little ring on her finger so when she notices her ring, she makes sure she has her glasses. She is four so there are no guarantees.. and hubby is a man so again, no guarantees. Good luck.. (don't forget to tell me about WSOL) thanks..

The Shriner's or Lion's Club may be able to help you with some, most,or all of the cost of replacing the glasses. It is an income basis and a needs basis. Check them out, what can it hurt to try for help in replacing this very important item.

Depending on where you purchased her glasses the maybe under warranty and then you would just get a new pair. I buy my kids glasses at Walmart because I love the warranty. We have had to use it a couple of times now. I have 3 kids in glasses.
