How to Wean First Morning Feed

Hi Mama's!
My 10 1/2 mopnth old is getting ready to wean. (I think she is totally ready now, but we're hanging in there until her 1 year birthday.) My question is, once I have weaned out her day time feeds, how do I transition her to not expecting it first thing in the morning. Right now she is up anywhere between 4:58am and 6:30 (But usually the ealier time). So our routine is, my husband goes to get her from her nursery, changes her diaper and then brings her to me and I feed her in bed. (He is getting up for work anyway so it seems to work out that way.) Once we are finished feeding we are up and taking our dog for a run to start our day. My question is: is there going to be any way to play in bed with her first thing when she gets up or as soon as she wakes will I be mixing her her breakfast and we will be up and at 'em no matter what time it is? Ugh.

What can I do next?

I don't really have any great advice, as I've held on to the morning feed as well (my daughter is 12 months)...for the reason you're mentioning. I love the cuddle in bed in the morning time!! I guess the only idea I have is, if you're weaning to formula, maybe you could have a bottle that just needs water added in your bedroom that you could mix while your husband gets her from the nursery? Oops, I'm rereading and it looks like you're hoping to not wean this feed until 12 months, so maybe you won't be using formula?

I would not cut this one out first. Your daughter is still quite young to wean and most people find the last of the day and first of the day the last to go. It seems to me if you want to replace that one with the morning meal, that would be easiest. But if I were you, I'd treasure that special time. Soon enough you will miss it!

As other moms said, enjoy this morning feeding as long as you can. Once you wean the other feedings this one follows naturally

Ive read & heard that AM & evenings are the hardest ones to let go on the little ones. Maybe try for a daytime feeding 1st if you really feel the need to wean?
Please dont take this personal, but I just want to make sure everyone is aware that the WHO (World Health Organization) now recommends 2 yrs of nursing for full benefits. Being a stay at home mom maybe think about going a bit longer!!! My sweet baby girl is 18.5 mo & nursing now, just a couple times a day is even more of an incredible bond.
Good luck whatever you choose =)

This is often the hardest time to wean because its a comfort and cuddle time. I still nurse my 16mos old at 6AM. The best advice I can give is just to distract her but she is still quite little. I was able to get my 16mos old down to 1 feeding by doing the distraction method but she was older 14mos old so we have been down to 1 feeding for about 2 mos now.

When I weaned all 3 of mine, I had a sippy cup of milk ready in the fridge for whenever they woke up. We would snuggle in my bed while he or she drank the milk, so we still got the together time and I got to rest a while more. As they got older, daddy gradually took on more responsibility for them in the morning.
