Okay I still have all of my daughters cloths from baby to now. She just turned two. I know...cut the cord already! So does anyone know where the best place to sell her cloths and toys would be. I know I need to be realistic and realize that Im not going to get near what I paid for them but if anyone has a tip on the place that will give the most for what I have I would appreciate it!!

What can I do next?

I sell all of my kid's clothes at a consignment chain called Kid to Kid. They will either pay you in cash or if you take a store credit, they'll give 20% more. I usually take the store credit since they have such nice clothes that are in really good condition. Their website, kidtokid.com, will show you all of the locations in the DFW area.

Take them to a used clothing store be sure to wash them get the stains out & disinfect the toys fold them nicely no trash bags put them in a laundry basket. There should be some in your area we have a Mommy & ME but they are local most places are local & are just a family buisness. If your upto it a garage sale I had 2 this summer did very well & didn't charge much mostly a $1.00 for items but as the day went on I went down to fifty cents then a quarter I had tons of items made over $200.00 i'll be having more this coming spring.

Variety of choices: www.thredup.com is pretty neat if you want to get a box of clothes for your daughter and get rid of boxes you have (medium size priority mail box - costs $15.70/box which pays for shipping $10.70 plus $5). Expect 10-17 items/box depending on size.

Twice yearly area consignment sales, here they advertise them on Craigslist in March and August, sales are in April/May and September/October. Consignment stores. Expect to get $1-5/item.

If you want a bit more for your items and they are completely stainless, popular brand (Gymboree, Gap) and boutique items (Naartje, Matilda Jane), take a look at eBay as well as www.fashionmomcafe.com and www.gymboplace.com

Do you have a Once Upon a Child in your area? They buy and sell used clothing and baby items. I would call and see what they are accepting. In certain months they'll change what they are looking for like in March, they are going to start wanting summer clothes so taking your winter items would be a waste.

If you sell on Ebay I would do it in bulk, not individual items or outfits. Remember you get charged fees for listing, fees when the item sells, then a fee from Paypal. There's also shipping fees involved. I only sell on Ebay when it's going to be a big ticket item.

Ebay is a good place. Here in Ca we have a place called Children's Orchard and they give you cash or store credit (which they give you more "money") for the clothes.

Also if you can part with some for free you could go on to Freecycle.org and give thm to a needy family.

A friend sells her daughter's clothes on Craigslist and has been happy with her return. She says that you get more for them on Craigslist than at a yard sale (she has nice stuff). Also check into consignment shops, most give you a percentage of what they sell it for.

Check out Just Between Friends consignment sale (www.jbfsale.com). They have 2 a year- one for Spring/Summer clothes and one for Fall/Winter clothes. I sell my 2 kids clothes at the Fort worth sale and have been very pleased. There is a lot of prep (tagging items and putting them on hangers) but you get to set your own price and get 65-70% (depending on if you volunteer) of what you make minus a $10 selling fee. What's even better is you get early entry to the sale to buy new clothes for your little one. I've gotten entrie gymboree outfits (shirt, skirt, hat, sunglasses, etc) sometimes with the tags still on them for $12.

Good Luck!
