Wondering if any of you know how I can make a photo slideshow for my childs b-day next month!?!

All family and grandparents live in a different state than we do - so we thought it would be so neat to make a video slideshow of our child from birth - til now..maybe with it set to music?

Any ideas how we could do this? We thought it would be best to be able to mail a dvd to them - but if we have to email it then we could do that I guess..

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

I'm a pro photographer and I know Animoto has free product that does just that. Go to www.animoto.com

These are great and easy to make. I've played with it once (it's not free for pros, and I don't use it myself) and it seemed easy. It even comes with music, which, if you sync by yourself, is illegal.

Have fun!

I beleive there are a lot of software programs that do this, but I also think you can load the pictures up to Costco photo and make a DVD and they will send it to you. My niece did it for my father-in-law and said it was pretty easy. You up-load the photos and put them in order and pick the music you want and they make the DVD and send it to you or you can have it sent directly to your family. I think the more DVD;s you order the less it costs.

If you have Microsoft Word on your pc then you should also have the Slide Show program as well. Have all your pics' put on a CD first of all. Then load them on your pc. Go to file at top "click" and then "new folder" name the folder Our Child. Then you go into your Slideshow from your Word. When you go into slideshow on your top bar it will ask how you want your slideshow to run. From corner to corner, in and out etc. You can check which way you want it to go. Then at the top on the taskbar it will say "Edit" this is where in this column it will ask if you want to add picture, you go to Our Child and insert pic. At the bottom of the slideshow it also gives you page numbers so you can have a pic on page 1,2,3, etc. and you can again set it as to how the pic will come in on the slideshow. From centre out, from corner to corner, I hope your understanding what I'm telling you. Then when finished your slide show you can either email it or put on CD's and send them to family to watch on their pc's.
I know this sounds difficult but it really isn't. Find your slideshow from your Word program and play with it first and go from there.
Good luck!!

windows movie maker is pretty straight forward. It allows you to do transitions and other effects as well. You have to be careful about music if you intend to put it out on the web. (copy tight laws) however if you are only sending dvds to family for personal veiwing then your ok.

I have used Windows Movie Maker a lot and it is very easy. By the way, I am not very smart when it comes to computers. You can add pictures and your own music. I did a slide show for my sister's wedding and a slide show for hubby, of our baby's first year, for Father's Day. Just Google Windows movie maker and download the application. Good luck.

You can take your digital pictures to Walgreens. They have templates to choose from with music.

If you are fairly competent with the computer, you can use either slide.com or smilebox.com Both are free (on Smilebox you can pay for a membership and get more options) but after you create your slideshow you will get two options: either a URL for the person viewing it to go to online, or some html script, so you can embed the slideshow directly into the email or blogpost or whatever.

I've done this before. And both sites give you options of music that you can use for free to set to the slide show.

Good luck!
