As I sit here sipping my coffee I notice my skin tags again. How do you keep from getting skin tags? I had a bunch removed but they are coming back. Now there are tagless shirts. I wonder... will I ever be tagless?

I looked around a little on this subject and as far as I can tell, there is nothing that will prevent skin tags.

Some people have used iodine and said that it works when applied twice daily. Supposedly it takes anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks and is painless, but mostly people are just using sharp scissors, a nail clipper or a Styptic pencil to remove them and using pressure to stop the bleeding.
Some have had success with wart and mole removal products as well.

Now, I don't know if I'd have the guts to chop something off my body personally, but if you decide to go for it make sure you use an antibiotic creme afterwards.

Good luck!

My doctor basically said - No. I have them too. They are hereditary. Anyplace anything "rubs" your body can get them.

I noticed them too on my neck area and now in other places. I grab them with my finger nails and pull it quickly. It would be nice if there were a pill that will prevent such things.

Hi D., or should I say Carrie from Sex in the City :) That was funny. I am not sure if there are permament resolutions for skin tags, but I know you can buy a little "burner" that you can burn them off with. I did this for my mom a couple years ago. It is kind of scary to do though, because it is so hot and it burns. I missed her skin a few times and she got a few blisters, ouch!

I had several skin tags on my neck a few years back and paid some ridiculous amout to have them removed by a dermatologist. Then my neighbors said they have a skin tag "party" every once in a while..........they make a pitcher of margaritas and then use a nail clipper to take them off of each other! So I got brave and tried the nail clipper on myself (minus the drinks!) and it really doesn't hurt! Try it!

My boyfriends grandmother swears by essential oils for EVERYTHING and I remember her telling me about an oil that makes skin tags and small moles fall off. I have never tried it myself but she said she had a tag that fell off within weeks...what's the worse that could happen??? Unfortunately I can't remember what oil it is but I googled it and found that teatree oil helps with skin tags and warts and such. I hope this helps:)
