How Soon Did You Know You Were Pregnant?

So last time I was preggers I knew wihin 36-72 hours. I have on-going gyno issues so I track my body pretty carefully. I am considered 'High Risk" when I am pregnant - one of the reasons being is that I have large amounts of scar tissue attached to my uterus and other internal organs.

So a few nights ago I had a fantastic night :) but all day have been cramping like crazy and the breasts are tender. This is what happened last time, I also had leaking breasts at 3 months pregnant. I just had the period last week but was told once that I 'prolly ovulate 2 times a month - right after my period and then 8-10 days later.

So...the Question...anyone else out there like me? When did you know?

BTW - This is NOT an "Am I pregnant?" question, this is a "How soon did you know you were Pregnant?" question. I m just wondering if other moms like me knew they were preggers early...sheesh!

What can I do next?

Well I did know at 5 days once. I had gone to get on birth control in the 80's. We didn't even have pregnancy tests that were easy to use or cheap. I certainly wasn't thinking yet I was pregnant. But the doctor said I was a little swollen and I was either pregnant or had a cyst. So he did a blood test. Since I had only had sex one day that month and one day the previous month, and I had a regular period, there was no question to the length of the pregnancy. I wasn't "swollen" enough to be a month pregnant. I seriously wonder how in the world I could have been swollen at all! My daughter is 25, almost 26 though so I certainly was.

Lol...with my third baby I suspected within hours that I was preggers and KNEW by the second day. Early pregnancy signs started right away with her...i.e. tired all day even though I slept all night, food aversions, sore breasts...I had just had my period a week and half before but there was no doubt that I was. Of course I still had to wait till my next missed period to confirm it (by then I was 3 1/2 weeks along).

I worked in a daycare at the time and I remember my boss commenting on how tired I looked. I just laughed and told her that I was pregnant. When she asked how far I said 'oh a few days' (I think she thought I was losing my mind)

First pregnancy, I took a test three days before my missed period and got a positive. Second pregnancy, my cycles had not yet regulated since weening my first baby. My breasts were tender and my abdomen (uterus) felt firmer. I took a test and it was positive. I later found out that the estimated date of conception was only about 10 days before I had taken the first test. I was super-symptomatic because I happen to be carrying twins.

I, for one, don't think you are asking this question as an alternative to peeing on a stick. I also find it interesting how soon some people tend to find out as opposed to others who may be two or three months along before they know. I think the title of your question is honest enough, if someone has an issue with the question, why bother answering, eh?

I found out at 4-6weeks. I know a lady that knew the next day that she had conceived. Her daughter grew up and she knew the night she conceived! I was skeptical but the older woman explained that a lot of her family members are like that, so in tune with their body's that they can feel the slightest change. She also knew the sex of my baby long before the ultrasound. Some people just know, me on the other hand needed the test. =)

I have always found out at the normal time (missed period), though I suspected it earlier. I think intuition can do a lot to help you know and even cause symptoms. Your body does not recognize a pregnancy until at least 8-10 days after ovulation. Before then the embryo is not implanted so your body is no different then months where you are not pregnant. After implantation your body starts producing hCG and that tells your body about the pregnancy and can trigger symptoms.

I did not know as soon as you seem to, but I have heard some people do. I figured it out around the time of the missed period and confirmed with a test.

I knew I was preggo within the first 3 weeks. Like you my breasts hurt more then normal and it was just a "feeling" I had that I was pregnant. :)

14 days. We had our son with IVF. The embryos were transferred to me and a blood test 2 weeks later confirmed I was pregnant. It took all the guess work out of finding the due date (he was born precisely on his due date). I didn't feel any different and I was very worried it hadn't worked, but it turned out to be a perfect pregnancy. Once the blood test came back positive, I was worried up until I could hear a heart beat because I just didn't feel any different between being pregnant and not being pregnant. The heart beat was the confirmation I needed to help me relax a bit.

I think some people just know. I was sure I was pregnant about a week after I conceived my first son. I suddenly knew exactly what I was going to have for a meal. It wasn't a craving, I just knew what I wanted and I'm very indecisive about what to eat. I waited until 10 days after my missed period to take a test but I knew it would be positive. Good luck.
