i want to make the most out of this (hopefully soon to be) pregnancy, and i know from my previous pregnancies the importance of a healthy diet and lifestyle... but i also know it can take MONTHS to actually concieve. i already began taking prenatal vitamins and folic acid... thats okay, right?? i asked my pharmacist and she said thats great... and i really dont think it will hurt... i guess im just trying to verify that YES, even if i dont get pregnany for a while, its okay for MY body to be loading myself up with all this extra stuff??

What can I do next?

My doctor is a strong beliver that if a woman is able to have children she should be on prenatal vitamins. I have been on prenatal vitamins for several years now. To be honest, I feel great after taking them. Once I got pregnant, I did take them at night because they made my morning sickness worse. Good luck on concieving!!!!

As everyone else has said...take them now that you are trying. It's also good to take afterwards especially if you are planning to nurse...Good Luck!!

Yes it is safe for you take them even though you are not pregnant. When I was trying to get pregnant my fertility doctor put me on the prenatal vitamins. Good luck & I hope you get pregnant soon.

My mom was a registered nurse and she told me that every woman with even the potential to become pregnant, let alone women who are actively trying, should take prenatal vitamins and folic acid every day. It's not just for pregnancy, it's just all around healthy for us to do.

Most drs will suggest you take them for 3 months before conceiving. My dr suggested I start taking them when I got married, even though we weren't trying at that time. I was on them for over a year before we started trying for a baby and I continued taking them after I stopped breastfeeding until my bottle was empty. There is not reason not to take them, even just as your daily vitamin.
