My husband thinks that I am paying too much for a haircut. My stylist charges $30. I dont know if that is more or less than average.

What is the going rate for a haircut?

What can I do next?

Hi, Im a hairdresser and i charge $50 for a haircut and blowout so if you ask me what you are paying is very reasonable.

I just got my hair cut yesterday. My stylist charges $45 and gives you a 10% discount if you prebook. So...it ended up being about $41 plus tip. I think you're getting a great deal.

I think that is a fair/average rate. I pay $120 when I go, but I do my cuts with my highlights....

Tell your husband that is average. I pay $45 for a cut and $120 for cut and highlights. My husband says he's happy for me to pay that because I always get the cut I want and have been going to the same stylist for about 8 years now.

I pay $25, however some stylists in the same salon charge $30 or more. $30 is pretty average.

They all think that! I pay $60 for a cut, and $105 for highlights in Birmingham. I only go every 4 months, so I did some quick math, and told my husband he spends more money on his sporting events then I do on my hair. He hasn't said anything about the cost of my hair since.

My stylist charges $20-$30 depending on if she uses the scissors or razor on my hair that day. I have spend as much as $80 on styles depending on where I went. If I also have her color my hair it can be about $120-$150 depending on what she does. Hair Razor's is in Clinton Twp on Harper north of 15. The other place that seems reasonable around her and does a good job is Hair Buzz on Groesbeck & Cass in Clinton Twp/Mt. CLemens area.

I'm picky, Terri has done my hair for over 6 years so maybe I'm getting a bonus rate.

I pay $22 for a haircut (which includes wash, cut and style)- I know my stylist is on the lower end but that is because I have been going to her for 10+ years.
I think $30 is a little pricey but I think that is average now. Good Luck

I pay $45.00 for a cut and wash in Shelby Twp. in a nice salon. I think $30.00 is more then reasonable. Your husband probably only pays 10-15 for a haircut and with no shampoo.

Mine charges $35.00. He works in Ferndale at FLIP. His name is Dean and he is worth every penny! Actually, i'd pay more. All my friends go to him and we all love our hair. So it depends on whether you like your hair for $30.00 and if it is worth it to you.

HI,
I pay $50. at Emile's in Beverly Hills. You are doing great, especially if you like the cut and it comes together well.I have short curly hair so I'm pretty fussy, and it's very close to home.
If anyone has the name of someone close that does a good job for less, I'm open.

Lisa, it all depends on the salon you go to. the more upscale it is the more money you will pay. For example if you go to Fantastic Sams or Grondins you will only pay about $15 but if you go to a salon in Birmingham you will pay a lot more money.

I pay $40 for a cut in Shelby Township, so your price sounds pretty reasonable.

My hairstylist is very very cheap, and he does very good work. Its 17 for a cut, (womens) 30-50 for top highlights, 30-40 for an all over color and 30 for root touch up. Also depends on your hair length, mine is about shoulderlength. I think washes are like 5-10 and for him to blow dry and style is like 20. It almost sounds to good to be true espcally sense its not like fantasic sams or somewhere horrible like that. (sorry i have had bad bad hair expirences) His name is Nick, he is located at 15 and Little Mack, The salon is called Great American Hair. I can't vouch for any of the other stylist's but Nick is great!

I go to a wonderful stylist/owner of a place called Worxx Shop salon in Clinton Township. My husband and I go together normally on a Saturday morning cause it's a 30 minute drive, but she only charges $15 a cut and she's GOOD! I think that's really cheap for the going rates though.
