If you live in West Plano, North Carrollton/Castle Hills area, and have a house around 2500 sq ft, can you give me an estimate of what your electric and utility (trash, water, sewer, etc) costs are?

Feel free to send it privately if you want. Just trying to get an idea of utilities if we move into a bigger house.

Thanks!

We live in West Allen/Far North Plano area. Plano ISD. 4000 sq ft.

Our water, sewer, trash, etc is around $80 a month on average. It is a lot more when we are watering heavily. Our highest bill last year when we were watering heavily was over $300. Our trash bill also includes an extra cart.

Gas is lower in the summer because we have electric air. Summer gas bills are around $30 and in winter with heating the highest was about $200.

Electric (we use Champion and are locked in on a 12 month price in summer is around $200 with last years highest never going over $400. We did a lot to get that number as far as extra insulation, etc.

Shop electric companies on www.powertochoose.? either org or com, I don't know. We recently switched from a great program with Reliant after being customers about 12 yrs because they no longer offer our program and the price was crazy.

Good luck.

I live in Plano... My trash, water and sewer bill is around $80 a month... I have both electric and gas, when the electric is up then the gas is down... just moved this past winter... I'd say gas/electric is around $120 most of the time, probably a little more in the summer...

I think it depends on the house itself... my sister moved into a brand new house, their utilities... electric bill is around $500-600/month; the house was threw together... and it's about 2500 sq ft, maybe a little bigger but not much...

E.: if you are interested in a previously lived in home, you can always call the electric company for a monthly average on the electric bill. We did that when we were looking to buy and helped us decide between two homes (one must have been built better than the other).

My house is about the same size as yours. My electric runs around $100 before it gets hot, this last month was $160 and will get as high as $280 July, Aug etc. My water bill typically runs around $60, depending on how much I water. My gas this month was less than $25, but gets as high as $120 in the winter. Enjoy your new home.
